Post attempt 2.0. 2018 250 EXC TPI, received new in Jan 2018. Best thing I ive ridden. After years of 450 four strokes I don't think I'll go back to four bangers, all things being equal. No issues with the TPI, good power and torque and doesn't foul plugs, and love the oil tank so no mixing fuel.

    Jeez thatís a Beautiful bike.

Iíve just joined the club with a 2007 KTM SX 250. The previous owner had it set up for enduro. It needs a few little service things but was good value and Iíll enjoy having a tinker.

Anyone got their little one an electric dirt bike? Like the Gas Gas e10 or e12?

Assuming you are talking about the Yamaha version and not the Husky one then yes. It will unlikely ever drop below $2k as long as it is still running. Can still get plastics and graphics to tart it up and they are bullet proof.

Yep, Yamaha. Thanks. Got to continue arguing with the wife about it. Apparently 7 regos is already too much.

My GSXR was put through wrong when I got it rego'd and is a 500 apparently. Cheap rego and green slips. Hopefully never crash and get dicked.

What are WRs like on the road? Got a 25km each way commute and it would be great if it could do that as well.

Depends on what sort of speed. They will sit on 100km without too many issues with standard gearing but they will be running at about 75% max rpm. Balancing tyres will help as well.

Took the 250 SX for its first blast.
    Did front wheel bearings
    Bled brakes and clutch
Reset front forks and bled air
    New air filter
Drained and replaced gearbox oil (only 50ml came out)
    New plug
    New grips

It goes bloody hard that donk. Played around with settings, tyre press, dampers and bar position and started to feel really comfy.

Checked gearbox oil after a few runs and itís lost 100ml so will need to do seal into crankcase.

Do you have a property out at Balkuling, or are these actual tracks to be able to ride around on?

Been riding weekly since my broken finger came good last May. Made a few changes to Millsi's RM250 with a heavier flywheel, hydraulic clutch and throttle tamer. Biggest change has been learning how to control the bike with clutch and throttle. Took me months and was pretty frustrating at times in slow tight riding. Loves the high speed open tracks on pipe but tight singles and steep hillclimbs required me to work out how important the clutch is to power delivery. It sort of clicked one ride and I worked on it ever since. Old dog learns new tricks.

If you guys like to watch dirtbike vids I highly recommend this channel. Shows our local riding area which is pretty amazing and captures the fun of going out with your mates and enjoying yourself while testing your skills. The latest vid has Me and Woody and PFer Tai Johnsen in it.

Was looking forward to a weekend riding and camping at Amamoor weekend just gone.

Lasted about 30mins when I lost all gears but 3rd. Not fun hill climbing, trying to find a road out. Lucky I was with a good bunch of blokes that lead me out and were very patient.

Gearbox oil was a grey milkshake and bits of clutch and small bits of metal. Water pump seal had let go, allowing the cocktail of destruction.

Put it on the trailer and drank piss for the rest of the time.

That video made me want to go there for a ride, jealous of that riding area... All we've got is rocky shale singles for miles.

I just fixed this on mine, it's a pretty easy solution as the spring gets weak and the engage fork wears, check this video

I'm currently rebuilding my 99 YZ250 and a flywheel weight is high on the list of priorities.
Also adding a wide ratio gear box.

Loved the vid, looks like you have some great riding terrain up there
Ban low performance drivers not high performance cars
