That's the full act - the dead link was the cliff notes.
"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

GTRs for $60k, but im sure the jap market will probably adjust up a little bit once they realise.

e.g. https://prestigemotorsport.com.au/ex...s/?car_id=4428 is a huge saving compared to the current pricing here.

The asks on CarSales are only ~$15k-$20k more, and they're only asking prices.
It's not enough cheaper that I'd be excited, if I were in the market for one. I'd certainly consider the JDM option, but it'd be an option rather than a "wow that's cheap gotta have!".
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

Holy shit. The arse has fallen out of them real quick. The last time I looked at them about 12 months ago, they were still 70-80

Besides R35s, what else is decent that isn't already being usurped by the Yanks?

Why am I not looking at R35's? Running costs for starters. Yes I'd love one but it's Italian exotic territory as far as I'm concerned.

I'm thinking the stuff I couldn't get but always wanted as a kid. Last shape GT4' Celicas as only 80 odd made it to Australia. Evo wagon looks interesting when i saw one in NZ. The big Toyotas look like fun with all the luxo stuff and a big V8. Nissan Fuga also fits that bill.

I think the stuff that we never got here but had high powered versions will be cheap and fun. Will VS, a V6 Corolla for example.

One would think the yanks are only going to go for the real hero cars like the GTRs and Supras... i wouldnt think there would be enough bragging rights in something like a Mark X when you have to put up with it being wrong-hand drive?

I think there is some Aus delivered stuff when we got the shit versions, but it disqualified from imports like the MR2 Turbo and some 300zx's may be able to get a cheap 90s jap car.

Some random uk stuff as well most likely if your brave.

I wonder if it'll make things which were only "OK", but still sorta pull at the personal heartstrings a little, worthwhile?
eg. I don't think the last of the 20V 4A-GE Levin 2drs were world-beaters in any way, but due to there not being many around, they've always been more expensive than is particularly warranted.
The single GZE AE92 on CarSales is $15k, and I kinda think that's pushing it a bit (and due to how hard they are to get your hands on here) Ö they're possibly rusty smashed shitheaps given they're in NZ, but AE11x's seem to be more like $5k in NZ.

You can pick up an, albeit converted 4AGZE AE92 for much less than $5k so that price is a bit optimistic. Hell, Carsales average price of AW11s is $20k+.

To be honest the only reason these rules interest me is Kei car potential!

I don't reckon there is enough margin in bringing in a R35. Mid 60s on road vs. the local cars that are in the mid to high 70s asking price.
I reckon the gap will tighten a little by end of year when these are eligible too given nobody is buying used cars anymore.

Coupes that aren't shitboxes are only ~$5k? Might have to keep my eyes out ...

Woah, steady on! I canít guarantee theyíre not shitboxes!

There is a fairly mint looking MZ21 Soarer down to the factory wheels for $3.5k on my daily commute. Iím deliberately trying to avoid looking at it, late 80ís JDM luxobarges have been the best cars Iíve ever owned.

    It is definitely a non-aerocabin Z20 and I thought it had a 3.0 badge.

Looks in good nick at 70km/hr while studiously looking the other direction. I can definitely stop to check it out for you.

You can buy a r35 egoist ( luxury spec which is allowed under the new rules)

Last one I watched sold for 88k( on road in Aus) for a 2013 model with 40k on the clock

Compare that to the Australian market
Check out my shit for sale on facebook:

Crap I forgot about all the LHD stuff. I need a full sized pick up to do house renos and have a mate who will buy it off me for the same reason when I'm done. Also thereís Vettes, Camaros and Firebirds that would take a LS nicely. Hmmmm....
