When F4 had some numbers there was some genuinely good racing. Lots of passing and wheel to wheel actual racing. With a good grid number yes they can turn on great racing. The way it is now.....not so much.

Thought this was a good watch, rare to see anything inside the teams engine wise so it was interesting and Todd explained it pretty well. I wish there was more of this kind of stuff from the teams themselves, talking about their technical setup or design elements.

watching the supports from darwin, is there a reason why every time IPRA is on the support list the dude in the blue falcon is always up ahead winning by 15sec etc??? its like watching an excel cup race but the winner has a 2l turbo engine under the bonnet while everyone else has the stock 1.5l engine...

Haha, has been the case for 5-10 years now. Same when they race at Bathurst.

Agree, what is the point of 'racing' when you're so far out in front, might as well just be doing sprints!

The announcers said on the weekend that it's top speed was only 5km/h slower than the supercars.

It's got a 6l version of a supercar engine in it and makes ~750hp

Yes very true and he is a good bloke too, I didn't mean to make it sound like it was all engine that made it happen.

He is certainly top level to beat Roland both on and off the track, even with the might of Penske behind him.

Penske wouldn't be paying him if wasn't good.

i under stand the commercial need to move away from the commodore and falcon Utes, to what is available in the market place, but this platform isn't working.

Anyone with half a brain knew this wasn't going to work just like the supercars move to V6 engines which eventually got shelved

i think it would work for TV, and the people on the cans at the tracks, but probably not the sponsors or the manufacturers. im pretty sure mazda, nissan and ford etc wouldn't want to see their product with a gm engine in it, especially when it grenades.
a basic control chassis on grip limited tyres, like a semi slick (but built low and for the application with a body drapped over it, think nascar truck) allowing the use of the vehicles power train, same engine parity rules as now would have been a better option.

The cars now run a semi slick tyre and are much lower than before. They look much better now, are quicker, but still don't sound great.....

At least the manufacturer would have their product seen because at the moment literally no one is watching.

Penske have announced an unchanged lineup for next year. There goes those rumours of Scotty going to Nascar.

Latest rumour is Mostert to Walkinshaw. You gotta why as apart from money there isnít much going on there. Unless they use his signing as a start to get back to the front of the grid. And speaking of money WAU ainít flush like Penske so I canít see them doing a DJRP and turn things around in a few years.

Andretti and Brown have money, they just don't like spending it.

Yep. And thatís the difference between them and Penske. Not to say that itís a blank cheque with the Captain but there appears to be a willingness to spend where itís needed. And Penske is on another level of wealth compared to any of WAU partners.

I doubt Andretti and Brown are putting in much financially into the team. Having Brown as a partner could be useful in finding new sponsors etc.

In Townsville. It's raining and miserable. Honestly thought I'd get some sunshine here. Will it make the racing better or worse?

She has Harvey Norman money. Tickford are known to have sponsors who don't pay a lot yet...
