Spent the day at the track with my two boys 9&7. They had a great day. Got to meet Scotty, Fabs and Dick. We left at end of arvo GT race as dudes were getting tired. Home in time for beer and couch to watch the race.

Did anyone go and could they see anything?

Wannaroo isn't the greatest specator track with a lot of the action not visable, wondering how bad it was at night?

Viewing at Barbagallo would be much better than SMP. But then the track is only 2/3 the length so that's always going to be the case. Looked good on tv to me. Wouldn't have minded going over but didn't have a gig for this weekend.

Love the 888 guys whining about 'cheating' as if cheating isn't the foundation of 888.

It's only cheating if you get caught, otherwise it's clever engineering and interpretation of the rules....

I quite enjoy the V8 Supercars as a Motorsport fan, but from a business point of view youíd have to be pretty mad to buy it, or have some real visionary ideas to evolve it. It by secret Archer have been open to a sale for awhile now, but nobody has wanted to bite. There are a series of things seriously wrong like Foxtel, SuperUtes and the like. Then again something like the F5000 series might just be a nudge in the right direction.

I think F5000 is going nowhere in a hurry and will die a quick death without any fanfare.

yes still a thing, without it as a stepping stone, makes it very hard to progress in European open wheeler classes that count.
a f5000 championship will mean nothing to the fia for points towards a super license.

What was wrong with F3? Costs? At least they looked like a professional racing car, not a cobbled together copy of a racing car.

They don't. They ran on the undercard for a couple of years, but now they run with the nationals.

The love for open wheelers is no longer there in Aus. Anything above Formula Ford just dies. The F4 is a legitimate car. Several different chassis constructors, engine suppliers, etc. All FIA crash-tested. Very similar philosophy to F3, but slightly scaled down in size.

    F3 is cost,
F4 can be done reasonably cheaply now (you can buy cars, where previously you could only lease from Cams). but to be fast you would struggle without a talented engineer, its not a father and son type race car.
F4, control low stressed engine etc

The fields of 4 are exciting to watch.

If there was 20 of them, with some known names it probably would have a following.

that's true, probably why cams have changed there attitude on buying cars etc to encourage more people. also you could only do it for 2 years, believe
they have changed that rule as well.
