My heater control valve turned up so hopefully get it changed in the next few weeks.

It holds 21 litres of coolant that I'll change at the same time.

Apparently VW coolant (ZVW-237-105 G11) is the go. Is this still available Sloth?

Had the opportunity to leave work early today so went to the local vw dealer. They don’t stock G11 coolant anymore but suggested the one (and only) coolant they stock for VWs is compatible. Need to do some research on that one.

    They're backwards compatible.

    G13 is the current hotness.

Pretty much what bobs and vagena said.
That engine got a workover right? What colour coolant is in it? G11 is OLD. What source mentioned that?

If it's pink, at least G12/G12+ for sure.
G13 is miscible but you probably should flush anyway.

Finally have a weekend off go karting so changing all of the fluids.

Bit embarrassing when I went to get some supplies and the remote locking decided to stop working. New battery in the fob didn’t help. Had to work out removing the cover over the keyhole in the door to get going again.

Replacing the heater control valve is a bit more difficult as the gear linkage cables are in the way. All diys I’ve found are on egear cars so not an issue for them.

Still amazes me how many litres of fluids are in this thing 😄
