This thing might turn into a good car.

Did you get the door trims too? Or are yours already good?
Was a later model seca. So completely wrong trims. But mine are pretty damned good anyways.. But... If I found some good ones, I would probably nab them for spares.

She is starting to look proper twin cam now.. Getting close to inspection time. Needs a proper clean, cut and polish. Current state was a quick 3am bucket rub down after I finished putting her back together.

It's getting there hey! Needs the factory wheels. What's with the bumper fitment. Do they have a steel brace in them or is the chassis not square (or both?)

Is the plan still to get it registered in SA and then bring it over?

Interior looks good. Are the door cards back on?

Well done. What's the running $ tally?

Bumper has no steel brace, just two mounts that bolt on and in.. BUT.. I only sat it in for the photo so it's not fully bolted up there . Was the last thing I did very quickly before heading off. I think SA rego will be easier. Just need to demonstrate proof that I have an address where it will be kept. Which clearly I have as it's there now.. Wheels are coming..

    That's good news.

Some inspiration! Even if it's the wrong colour.

I just got these in a corolla purchase. Reckon they'd look ok on yours? I don't know if the PCs and offset is the same with the ae93?

I'll measure them when I get them, but they are 17s, what's a usual offset for yours? They kind of look like the series 2 stock wheels. If you squint.

Kei car: an exercise in how cars have grown in stature!

As per title. Fuck me. This cuore / Mira absolutely dwarfed the corolla at the all Jap day yesterday.

Is this thing done yet? I think I have an unhealthy desire for some rolla action.

Pretty sure the wheels are the same on ae92 and 82. I have been told the brakes and calipers can be bolted on. The 92s have thicker front disks so it's a small upgrade if you can find them.

Regarding finished, hopefully next trip to Adelaide will see this thing ready for inspection.. Gotta bolt the parts back up properly and sort out the brakes which are sloppy as at the moment (hoping a flush will sort them out)

Have not been back since june. Plan is to bring it back to melbourne over grand final weekend hopefully.. So inspection before then.

Picked up a twincam seca this week for cheap enough. The why is that it has np cold start issue so maybe I can swap parts to fix that. Engine starts and runs reasonable but has a miss in cylinder 3+4. Been sitting for a long time apparently. But has an important item I had not yet managed to source because every time one of these gets parted it's got 100 guys alsing for it..

And another wheel for my collection

Body is reasonable. Even almost zero rust in fuel cap area. But has rust starting at the roof joins.

If I get my arse into gear, maybe I can make the geelong revival (although hillclimb entries are probably already full / closed and I would need to sort cams licences/ etc)

Good purchase. Steering wheel worth $250 yeah? How much is a gear knob?

That might look ok with a cut and polish

I feel so bad for just turfing the steering wheel in my old one now!

Getting a tank of fresh 98 octane.

Inspected today and a fanciful trip to the rego department, paid my $$ and now she's labelled ready to rumble..

That looks so so good compare to when you got it.

    Congratulations!

    Blacktop engine, nice!

has that noise that can mean either subaru or BHG, does it come good when it warms up?

I pondered head gasket also. Doesn't get better when warm. But pulling off leads on cyl 3 and 4 made zero difference to how it ran and no spark was jumping from the cable. So suspect degraded cables. Also, coolant looks beautofully.clean for BHG.. Nice clean clear red coolant (genuine Toyota coolant so it bleeds)..

    Will investigate further..

Also.. Not.sure if sarcasm? But definately not a black top that I'm aware of. Just blue top 16 valve. But only 200,000 km in the clock (vs the 320 on my current one).

Injectors are paired on 4AGEs, can't remember which ones or if the wires are long enough to swap them over but that might be worth a shot. Or swapping injectors which is more of a pain in the ass.

Might be a serious advancement on this in the near future.. It might suddenly change colour and loose 140,000km in the next few weeks.

Been a while sitting in the shed. Renewed rego as I was in town this week and needed a car. Found a nice hill to test out the 4ag..
