If you do hit the twisties, take the C382 then turn left on to the C725.
Turn right on to Break o Day rd, at the end hang another right on to the B300 (Melba Hwy).
Then a right on to West Bridge rd which becomes Kinglake-Glenburn Rd.
C746 Out of Kinglake to St Andrews, Then stay on the C746 or the C728 depending on where you are staying.
Ban low performance drivers not high performance cars

Thanks for the tips guys much appreciated. I ended up just belting it to the new place as I had things to do. Turns out my worst fears were confirmed and I need assistance to get into the garage. Fuck. Oh well Iíll raise it up and see if it can work without the boards. Hopefully shouldnít make me burn it as it will be back to a Ďsometimes carí soon and Iím hoping it can live at work in 6 months.

Oh really? It was its maiden commute to work so we werenít overly assertive on where we were headed. I assume you werenít close enough to yell obscenities at me?

Oh wait if you live anywhere near Caulfield I probably woke you up trying to get it out of the garage

I woke up on Christmas Eve to see street machine had recycled the article again. People were obviously in holiday mode and keen to argue because it got hundreds of comments and shares. One share went to an RX7 group Iím in which was funny. One thing is for sure people either love it or hate it

So this thing has done less than 500km since I moved to the lovely suburbs of Melbourne at the end of last year. And it was my commuter for over a month. Driving in Brisbane was lovely compared to dealing with the special morons that commute between where I live and work.

Anyway plan is to hit PI next weekend so it needed a little love. Special shout out to David aka KatoKid for the use of his hoist while I am living without one currently. His 240Z is next level clean. So damn nice.

The task there was to remove and regrease all the poly bushes and put some actual tie rod boots on and some grease as the rod ends don't really like going dry

The make-shift boots from heat shrink that we made at 10pm the night before I drove to Melbourne:

    New ones:

    Bush and lube action

Then off for a wheel alignment today. Technical issues snafooed that so I have to go back on Wednesday to finish it

Next stop Brisbane for some new brakes

Am also planning to be at PI next weekend, just waiting on some new tyres to arrive. Looks like lightyear will be there too in some sort of mx5. Hopefully the weather is better than the last time we went for a drive. Fingers crossed.

Will be there on Sunday too. I'll be parked up in front of the garages about 30m after the main toilets in the middle of the paddock. See you there

The old brakes were stock rotors on min thickness and project mu pads and they looked like this after 2 track days and some road driving:

I was very tempted to go for a 355mm 6 piston Alcon upgrade but decided in the end to try some Forza 2 piece rotors and use the Forza FR6 pads I already had in the shed. Rotors look cool and as a complimentary bonus I got some PF circle jerk action while meeting the Brakes Direct guys at a networking event in Brisbane on Monday. I'll bed them in tomorrow.

Gotta clean that hub face real good says Greg from brakes direct

Did you at least buy them dinner first?
"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

Man what a day. So racing was delayed for about 3 hours due to epic fog. To be honest the most intense driving I did was towing the car there and home- visibility was like 30m at times.

I clearly have a lot to learn about that place but roughly my day went like this. (Sprint round so 4 flying laps per session so I had to try and learn quick):

    1st session: 1:51.5
    2nd session: 1:51.2
    3rd session: 150.6
    Surprise 4th free-for-all session: 149.0

Here is the video of the 149.0. Messy AF but I tried pushing and that sun was blinding! Also apologies for the noise- I still have tailshaft vibration issues (and yes it was fkn loud in the car)

Nice work. 49 on your first drive at PI. Outbloodystanding, looks like you could easily shave a couple more seconds off.

Oh and it looks like 249kph is limiter in 5th. Once I got faster it was hitting it at the end of the straight

Top effort. Other than the little whoopsie at MG that was very tidy for your first day there and a solid time. See what you mean about the sun. No doubt has left you hungry for more laps. How smooth is that track hey? Itís in such good shape.

    That fucking sun sucks balls.

So syrupy smooth that power delivery.

    Driveline vibration is shit.

    You should sell the thing.

Yeah I wasn't expecting to blitz the ultimate lap in 4 short sessions but definitely more time available. Easier said than done though

Yeah I was fairly blind going down into MG and I wasn't confident on the turn in point still so I decided to panic and just botch the whole thing lol. My fastest lap at lakeside was the same with another cock up like that. I guess it's just my thing now- may as well own it. It's a really cool track. Can't wait to go back with the driveline vibrations sorted and figure out if I should pull 6th or not

Looks like you had fun and got to learn the track a bit. I saw your car there, it looks great as usual. 1:49 is good, quicker than my MX5.

You will need to narrow that down- you have a lot of MX5s and some are much quicker! I saw the aftermath of your fire but you were hosing it off by then and I was helping the Harrop guys- looked like you had it under control and didn't need another wanker asking you about it. Looks like it would cut a very decent lap when it's going.

My optimal lap times per session started at 1:51.1 and gradually went down to a 1:47.6 in the last session. So I'm still very green at the track with a grand total of 16 laps under my belt and 1.5s inconsistency in my best lap. Needless to say I'm very keen to go back and practice.

Smoothest track in Australia without a doubt. It's like a billiard table.

Nice work mate, 1.49 is not fucking about.

I was helping run the VicV8 guys and saw the RX7 doing some laps. 49's is impressive for a 1st at PI, well done.

I saw Dave putting the fire out on his MX5, I was helping by passing him the petrol container.

You mentioned turn 12 and dont run wide, did you see the aftermath of the escort?. No amount of buffing will fix that, poor guy.
