Man that's a rough start, at least the axle broke before dc I guess. Weird looking snap too, not real clean at all. How did the dc itself go for you?

    Drag Challange

Day One - first time on 235s, had thrashed to get the wagon going after gearbox & axles breaking during the week of...

First Pass decided to only stall the car to 2600 rpm on the foot brake & bring the nitrous in at 3500 rpm. 11.20 @ 119mph with a 1.68 60ft

    Second Pass - Brought the gas in at 3250rpm, stalled to 2600 & ran 11.10 @ 120mph. P.B to the 8th mile 7.04 @97mph

Handed the fastest slip in and got our directions to Warwick Dragway. 300km through to Somerset dam and back to Warwick via esk, hampton, Toowomba ! Car ran & cruised perfect especially towing a trailer for the first time. (May need to get the window wipers working)

    Warwick Day 2 -

    Firstly swap the 14s over for the 235 s/s Drag Radials, First Pass 6.99 @ 98mph !!! P.B with a 1.62 60ft, over the moon

Pass 2 - Decided to change Nitrous Jet & throw some more gas at it ! Just a small change 54 jet from 52, ended up being 112.5 shot. Pulled the gas in at 3000rpm through the holley efi. 6.92 @ 99mph with a 1.58 60ft

    Pass 3 - Same Tune 6.92 @ 99mph with a 1.57 60ft

Hand in time slip and off to stanphorpe, via Inglewood Stanphorpe road, Omanma, karara, Leyburn, Allora back to Warwick down the gap to Willowbank.

    Day 3 - Willowbank

Pass 1 - Realized I had made a mistake with the nitrous progression, had the gas activating at 3000rpm but the percentage 0 % ramping in at 100% @ 3250rpm. Massive P.B 10.66 @ 122mph !!! 1.45 60ft picking up the front left wheel. 6.68 to half track!!!!

Run 2- Just trying to back up pass 1 & break a axle at the hit !!! Hand in time slip and get I survived sticker!!!

That was Qld Drag Challange over and done with.

Decided to bite the bullet & go billet 31 axles and changed back to 3.9 diff gears still on the 235 radials, back out to Warwick Dragway on the 25th May! Struggled early in the day for traction on normal prep trying to stall to 3000rpm and gas activating at the same time, ended up stalling to 2700rpm and ran a bunch of 6.80s & best of 6.78 @ 100mph

So decided to race the Winternationals @ Willowbank Raceway in Super Street, More of a chill out week/weekend to get away from work! Still using the 235 s/s Radials & 112 shot......

With the recent luck testing I decided to keep stalling to 2700 rpm for more consistentsy instead of 3000 (on the 10.66 pass) .

First Pass off the trailer 10.30am Thursday, 10.65 @ 122 mph!

2nd Pass - 1.30pm Thursday the wagon ran off a tad 10.79 @ 122mph in the heat but had lower bottle pressure than pass 1.

    3rd Qualifing Pass - 8am Friday morning, 10.700 @ 122 mph

    1st Round Of Racing - 8am Saturday Morning, Dial In at 10.66, .059 R/T 10.733 @ 118mph off the gas early ! Very happy

2nd Round Sunday, In the lanes 7.45am but waited until 10am to hit the track after rain all arvo & night saturday. Dial In @ 10.69 , .084 R/T and for some reason the wagon unloaded at the hit and shook really bad, Pedelled & ran 11.00 @ 120mph to lose.

Overall a good weekend catching up with mates and a few boxes drank.

That is doing racing right. Bad luck about the issue for the loss.

It must still surprise a few people.

You must've run just before I arrived on Sunday morning - if I'd known I would've found you in the 'pits' and said hello; one of my favourite cars on here and nice work on the (consistent) 10s!

Last minute decision last night to enter Kendra Radial Drag Event this Saturday @ Willowbank. Should of had a fresh set of radials but wasn't planning on racing. Putting new control arm bushes this week, ready for bulk gas

Kenda was a blast, went back to a 255 et street R, was a bad move, alot more consistent but lost exactly a tenth with radial prep, the track was tight! And went from running 1.45 60ft to 1.49/1.50.

Qualifing went well 6.83 & 6.86 @ only 94 mph off the gas a tad early each pass. With over 30 cars they split the class into 2, I qualified 15 in the top/fastest 16 Cars

    Round 1 - Raced a 434 sbc 2 door monaro. Got a massive holeshot on him .150 reaction to his .400 somthing. 6.78 @ 99mph beat his 6.58!!!!

    Round 2 - Raced a old 56 chev, another holeshot & a 6.79 @99 beat his low 6.7

Round 3, with 5 other cars having won 2 from 2 and knowing they were all faster than me. I knew I had to step my game up in the 3rd round if i wanted any chances of making the finals.

So in goes the 150 shot Jet, Few changes to the timing retard & in went a aggressive nitrous curve... while going into stage I had my radio on and heard I needed to run 6.48 or quicker!!!

Game on stall it to 3000 revs and let it eat, Axle Tramp and no traction with a sharp pedal it hooked up pulling the front left up high. 6.86 @ 101.9 mph with a shitty 1.64 60ft. Also banged the rev limter hard in 1st and turned the gas off for .5 of a second. But still got the win 3/3 just missed out on the finals.

So now the plan is new 2 way adjustable Vikings rear shocks, McDonald brothers adjustable control arms and back to 235 et streets and try and chase 6.50s at radial riot.

Just slowly chipping away at it. Had the thought of going turbo... brought some manifolds but have decided to stick with current combo. May even chase a 9 second pass next year, stock bottom end... nitrous , 3700 pounds.
