Almost there, will have to resort to sandpaper for the hard to get bits

Also got the paint. It's a little too green for my liking but it'll change once layed out on the engine bay so we will see....

Been a while, you know how it is....and I havnt done much either!

most of the engine bay is back to bare metal, just the hard to get parts left - I thought I'd just knock out the front panel as it was pretty easy. Just had to take the front valance? off to strip back the heavy surface rust and that was it.

It's funny how my main motorvaton for painting it was the fact I despise maroon as a colour

Oh yeah, the valve cover needs that green. It's an easy job, and it's like the rug-it really ties the room together.

okay so the engine went back in on the weekend.........what joys I had

I put the auto in first (cause I have too) which was fine, getting the converter to seat properly? that was fun....stupid thing wouldnt seat properly and I didnt relise until I tried bolting the motor up and it wouldnt go the whole way

multiple scratches to paint, a tantrum and 3hrs later...............

the next day I sat the original radiator back in to see how it fits - looks good, and its in pretty good condition too ( was refurbed back in 1996 and it's full copper so alot better than alloy, also looks the part)

I hope you did not try and bolt the engine to an un-seated converter typically instant trans pump death

That stock Crown radiator looks huge! Is that the reason why the Hilux vicious fan wont fit?

    Good progress though, sweet as.

sorta, it's deceiving though as the top tank is wider than the actual core of the radiator - its still a 2 core though and if I used a newer thinner rad I may be able to use the clutch fan but it would cause other fitment issues because it would have to be longer width ways....

Went and picked up this beast for parts/panels - it is WAY past saving, like really bad rust as it was sitting under a tree for 20 years!! So I will just take what I can for safe keeping and depose of what remains - A pity as they're getting harder to find

At least this one got pilfered before it got to a crusher

Yes they are ugly wheels and the only set that would fit on the car to move it!!
