Oh and Iíve entered it in the 800mtr sprint at Gunnadah and will see if I can do the hill climb on the Sunday. Should be fun seeing Iíve not even driven it yet.

There are 5 sets of wheels in this photo along with 2 spare front splitters, a rear wing and 11ty other parts. Like a whole 911 cabin and rear seat of an Amarok full. It took us 3hrs to load.
Iím pretty sure Iíll sell the 2 spare sets of Simmons.

Iíve done a lap of the block. Pulls harder than the Silver 930 but I think some of that is the fact its quite a bit lighter than the silver car was. Turned the 295 semiís in 2nd coming on boost no drama at all. Suspension is 100% track tho and has zero give on the street. Will have to get down to wakefield soon so I can get a feel for the car.
Going to head up to a mates and to have a look at his EX V8 supercar in the next few days to see how his air jack system is set up.

Wheels on the left will be sold off after a resto. The BBS E50ís and LMís will stay.

Is it worth keeping any of those wheels that the car raced with in period? Might be worth something to a Porsche club purist if it stays with the car.

Yeah maybe. Turns out I know a guy who knows a guy who used to own it. Going to try and pick his brains about it if I can.

Iím also going to look at buying a sand blasting cabinet so i can clean up parts on this car and the wifeís Charger. Iím keen on getting started on the E50ís. Some wheel fans would be super cool too.

Do it. I may or may not be getting some made at the moment by D-Ing in Belgium.

I vaguely recall gamma saying something about not sandblasting alloy wheels, cannot remember the reason why. Maybe ask him lest you destroy some awesome wheels accidentally.

Love the car, you're living the dream mate...now wheres the thread for the Sierra?!

    Wasn't me!
Blasting the centres would be ok (go very light uap around the sealing surfaces though), be a ballache to bring the rims up to polish if you blasted them...
I've certainly said don't soda blast and expect the paint to stick without lots of washing, sanding and etching.
For wheels I reckon I'd send them to someone like UUheels on here for hydro-blasting - gives an awesome surface finish.

I'd assume you would want to use one of those wallnut shell type blasting media.

Iíve also had a chat with him. Iím pretty much just going with traditional BBS type fans for the E50ís.
Speaking of wheels Iíve made a start by cleaning the Simmons that are on the car.

These are the conditions Iím forced to work in.

    Before.

After. A long way from perfect but good enough for a track car.

Oh and I know this a small thing but this car has 10,000 more of this kind of thing the brings down the general appearance.
I mentioned to my wife that I wanted to repaint the tow hooks as the rear was painted an odd shade of brown and the front was just scrappy looking.
    I came home to this.

She had taken it off before going to work got it painted the put it back on this arvo while I took the little bloke to swimming. Bless her cotten socks. She didnít mention it and had just waited for me to see it.

If you ever post in the "Dumb shit your missus/nopics/wife does that pisses you off." thread again after this day, I'm going to have to tell you to pull your fucking head in.
