The other option would be to sell the diff and turbo setup and refit the stock diff and turbo and sell that

I should have put this drivetrain in a wanted car (xr/t/w/y/a/b/c/d)

Or have put this drivetrain in, say, a vs ute haha

Iím starting to think the best way out of it (financially) is to re-shell it. Something with leaf rear springs and probably reasonably wide to prevent cutting the 9 inch. Early falcons are too dear, same with Holdenís. Maybe Xd or Hj ute. Valiant probably too narrow

Maybe I should leave it up to my 11 subscribers...

Taking it to a street meet and getting a time seems like a great idea to give it some extra appeal. Has run a 9.xx 8n the ad has to ad some dollaridoos to the price tag.

Going to check out a wb ute tomorrow. Just a plain goodish nic thing for $3k. Should be just tailshaft, some tigwork and some hoses.

    Conversion itself looks pretty basic

Would need to be worth $30ish done to be worth it

Itíd be a bit wild for a cruiser ie 7675 pro mod turbo

Going to look at a ďneatĒ xd ute tomorrow. Diff will be a couple of inches too wide and tailshaft would need shortening but other than that itíd be all labour. Should be an easy $30k car??? I dunno...

Yeah thatís my concern. There was a similar (big turbo Barra, t400, 9 inch) xd sedan sold in WA recently. Was advertised for $40k and sold pretty quick but no idea how much for. This XD is 6k and if I assume this wagon is worth $12k to $14k as is. Not really interested in building another car but getting a bit sick of shitting money down the drain....I dunno...

Can you consolidate into just a few cars mate ?

A true "race" car for quarter mile stuff.

A tough streeter for Sunday drives, cruising with the kids

A daily with some decent urge.

Fuck repeatedly swapping around, it's gonna hurt the back pocket eventually ?

Yep, thatís what Iím trying to do, donít even need a daily with some decent urge. Getting rid of Xr6t ute (in for sale section), this wagon and Ducati went today.

    Vs ute for racing
    Camaro for cruising
Daily Polo is nearing the end (157000km in 4 years)
    Harley for solo cruising
    Porsche because

The biggest thing in the last 5 years is that Iím happy with my project car. Easily wasted $100k in last 5 years due to changing projects

Possible to just let it sit as a driving/rolling unit untill it sells?

If you no longer want car or driveline no point wasting time working or spending coin on another project you don't want to keep when already got prority projects you want to finish & keep.

I've started selling off parts & cars because I won't be able to finish or use them with current shiftwork roster.
an easy fix is get a mate to drive in front of you at 60 then 80 then 100 and mark in on your speedo with some liquid paper.

    Vs ute
    Camaro
Lpg bf wagon for day to day stuff

Thats all you really need imo.

Why the need for a Porsche? (Wasn't aware you even had one)

Harley? Didn't you say you get sore from riding bikes or was that just sports bikes?

You must spend a heap of money on insurance every year too.

I bet it all adds up.

I'd love your ute Chuck but can't really buy anything until the new house is finished - fucking price keeps going up everytime i see the builder...

Hang onto it for 12 months will you ? I've only got about 10 grand stashed in my slush fund that wife doesn't know about...

I don't borrow money for cars or toys mate and trying to minimize what i borrow for the new house. Paying off a ute for the next 15 or 20 years doesn't make much sense...
