Actually its a cunt, I did many carpark drifty donut things today in the wet, (which was fucking awesome) got fairly used to it but at the start it threw me, because its still accelerate right foot, and because seating etc like a car you naturally go for the clutch which is the brake with the left foot, but the clutch is on the gear shifter so you use your hand like a bike but a bike is the left hand, not the right, so shits all backwards and mixed up between the 2 lol, need to revise the shifter linkage as its thin bar and bends easy. Shifty suggested a tube for it to run in to stop it bending,

Fucking flanges or anything else for the turbo stuff hasen't turned up so Scott is threatening to just weld the fittings to the turbo and weld the turbo to the exhaust pipe lol

    Also, video here:

I think the clutch lever would be easier to get used to than pushing forwards to go up the gears?

Right hand would throw me though as above. Its all miss matched. If the lever was on the left....... *hint-ifitcanbedone* I reckon it'd be easier to adapt to, kind of like a car bike hybrid control.

Pushing forward for up gears is fine, just like a B&M shifter in our cars, but right hand instead of left, but yeah if it was in the left hand it would all tie in easier as clutch like bike, shift like car, could be done but to much fucking about, either way, Once you have a few laps it kinda just becomes another thing to operate, I stalled it the first 10 fucking times though pushing the brake for a clutch and not clutching, granny shifting and not double clutching when I should...

Guess I should have watched the video before commenting, I've used a clutch/lever a few time before but it's always been on the left.

Want to make shifting way cooler and way more complicated? I did up a design for paddles and a shift mechanism which runs on 12v.

    Love the latest Ep.
Good to see some of the toys. Like most it seems, OKE020 was one of my favorites and look forward to seeing it turned into a Drag challenge/road car. Any chance it will ever make it to Drag week or is the budget unrealistic to get there?

You would want the car to be engineered cause a event like that will attract attention from the cops

Not quite as cool, but a bit less complex, just use a push/pull cable.

Here’s my 2 cents that you didn’t ask for

After the intro montage, 2 or 3 second grab of the most exciting thing I’m going to see in this vid. A wheelie, a skid, you pulling down Golebys pants etc. Then, rather than a drag challenge poster, 10 seconds of what we’re going to see, “Drag weekend, three tracks in three days and hundreds of kilometres between them, a real test of a streetcar, lets get started” or something like that. The start you had looked like the start of one of those across the Nullarbor train things and no idea how long it would last.

The Michael J Fox walking with the camera deal is real offputting. Maybe standing half way and panning would be less jerky??

Love to see you guys succeed!

Thanks for the input chuck, must admit the gopro footage was shitty but needed to tell the story. It was chaos day so suprised we got any footage at all. I worked probably 80 hours this week, chris strung most of the footage together over a few days i got home from work at 930pm last night tidied up a few bits, made audio as good as i could get it and uploaded it near midnight, its not easy for me to find time. We are just a pair of amatures learning as we go. Will try to get better each new vid.
