280SE advertised at work.... located in Canberra

******This is something that I saw at work and I have nothing to do with the car if you are interested call the number below*********

    1970 Mercedes Benz 280SE

    93,000KMS

Regretful sale, just fully serviced by MB spares, runs great and a perfect vehicle for someone who is looking for nice Sunday / weekend drive car or a simple and inexpensive restoration project which would make money upon sale with the value of this rare model increasing.

Rego has run out but will put 3 month on for the new owner.

    $10,500

    Phil - 0409909595

Wonder if you could sell the plates to someone with an AMG who is of Chinese heritage and get some $$ back...

    Pooaaww pimp.

Should I buy for daily and we both have old Mercs Jim?

I'll leave it with you for V8 conversion
    BF XR6 Turbo - 2L Turbo TE - 75 TX Coupe - Atlas SS

    - PSN: rotacoupe

This is obviously assuming all your AUX outputs are doing something. Ie idle control, and the other does water spray, and the other updates your Instagram automatically etc.

Jesus these seem to be asking $35k anywhere up in to some very high numbers for similar year/same model! Seems like a bargain?

    The older Mercs certainly are.

I do enjoy being out and about in my pimp 116, just sad it hasn't moved for over a year now

LS would have to fit - a Merc OHC 6.3 V8 fits...
"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

The 3.5 V8s are up there for sure. 6.3s are 80k+ for a good one.

Also fwiw this would have the 2.8L six cylinder in it.

Anything front sump is a relatively easy conversion. The engine bay is plenty big enough for most engines.

The good news is that I am in the process of buying a house that has a garage big enough for this and a daily.

The bad news is that once I have bought the house, I won't have any cash to buy this.
Is it crazy how saying sentences backwards creates backwards sentences saying how crazy it is?

If anyone is interested I could go and have a general look over it. I don't know much about MB though.

That seems incredibly cheap when see people asking $20k for a 6cyl XB Falcon or 4cyl Sunbird.

They seem to be the last cheap chrome bumper classic. And they are going up in value too.
Rust is the issue. MB coated the underbody in a hard stone chip compound which worked awesome until water eventually gets in (usually from damage to the coating or leaky rubber seals), then they rot with disturbing speed. Check the boot floor, sills and rails for rust. If thereís a little bit then thereís a lot. If thereís none, then itíll be solid throughout.

It's definitely cheap next to local stuff but there doesn't seem to be too much love for Merc sedans. The W111 fintails are still cheap and the w114/115 compacts have barely doubled in price in the last 20 years. I'm guessing similar vintage BMW and Volvo sedans are in the same boat?
