    eBay racing 04 k24a1 Cr-v Manual

Picked up a new project yesterday.
04 crv Manual with k24 donk in it.

Have to sell my Mazda 6 then should have some spare money to proceed with eBay extravaganza in next few weeks.

    Plans are
    Gt28/gt30/gt35 eBay turbo
adapt my old adaptronic e420c ecu as a piggyback for fuel and ign.
    eBay cooler
    eBay injectors
eBay manifold and gate or mod stock headers
    Cheapie fuel Reg
    Walbro 460 in tank
    Aem afr kit
Leave stock block unopened and see how it behaves on pump and maybe swap to e85 depending on how knock limited it is.

Plans look good, and it seems epic power out of a K24 is just a turbo away in most cases!

Slightly surprised you're leaving the engine in the CR-V. But then again they do only weigh 1500kg odd so there's not much to be lost by sticking it in a civic. Plus this will be funnier.

LOL. I'm guessing it will be a bum dragger only as any power would no doubt kill the CRV fake AWD system. Not a bad plan if the box and diff can live as you can fit heaps in the square shaped CRV (we had an 06).

    Haha! Random ftw.
Plus you can use the built in picnic table between runs at the drags.

Has an ice bucket too doesn’t it? Be handy for the intercooler.

I wanted something I can still use for kid pickups and at the same time pretend I’m driving a 7sec car and have some fun on the 2 step and tuning it etc.

This was my solution after much research . Strong engine , cheap, plenty of support for the k24(except ecu dammit).

Plenty of people have made significant power from them, matter of fact that’s my issue, I could make 400whp easy enough but the driveline will turn to a box of broken biscuits .

I will stay awd for now and see how it goes, I see the US guys disconnecting it with no issue so I assume I can remove the driveshaft and chuck some slicks on the front only .

I looked into the turbo K24 option for my AW11 and yes, power is almost too easy!

I’ll think you find it might sort out it’s own driveshaft removal along the way.

get ready to break diffs and tail shafts, my mate has a turbo rd1 crv, on higher power it wheelspins the fronts then breaks shit in the rear

but its fucking cool (has 4 race seats) has survived better on a more reasonable power level

Define “higher power” and “reasonable “power on your mates car?

His would be b20b based I imagine ?

I’m actually thinking gt3076 or gt35 might be better as a softer boosting option vs small turbo with bulk bottom end twist.

Bit small for what I’m after mate. Thought about it but I can’t sleep at night knowing I fitted that size turbo to a 2.4

So it turns out I cant get Hondata or anything for this ecu so what’s the hotness in piggybacking ?

I have an e420c and my idea is :
Leave all factory idle, VTEC etc to stock ecu.
Splice in and take crank and cam signals for triggering
Cut injectors and factory coils out and run from adaptronic
    Run boost control through adaptronic

Does anyone know what factory I-VTEC profiles do approaching the stock rpm limiters and during wheelspin etc?

I wonder if anyone has ever converted the picnic table to a wheelie bar?

So research suggests these k24s bend rods if you feed them boost at low revs. Wtf.

So forget the small turbos after all, will go .63 rear gt3071 / gt3076 or gt3582 now I know that.

Bending rods at low rpm? Correct me if im wrong but that sounds like it could be fixed by retarding the cam and pulling ignition timing although i take it controlling the cam isnt an option with the way you are running the ecu?

PS bigger turbo is always better.

Diff swap shouldn’t be a show stopper. Is there an AWD gearbox that can be used that’ll survive?
