i doubt you'll have too many traciton issues if you have race tyres.

just to give you guys a back ground, my brother bought Jim's red streak VN after he got bored of it! we eventually put all the running gear into a VS Commodore body that was available, and the best we got out of the NOS was mid 12's but we never really had that many good runs with it all working properly (theres always something)

that said this v6 is still in great condition, we pulled the heads off it a while back to tickle them up a bit and its bores are in perfect condition and the tops of the piston have no signs of any abnormal wear/burns etc.

we ended up tapping a hole into the T/B and fitting the fogger nozzle there to stop it spinning like it did with Jim and we also upgraded the system to ZEX 250hp solenoids with a purge line. its best over the 1/8th at casino drags was 8.31

here is a video of it racing my 6 cylinder gemini at casino http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUP0tytIZEg

I think from memory at WSID scales the car weighed in at 1280kg with brother and fuel in the car, it runs 4.11 diff, the hi stall and kitted auto Jim had, plus M/T Slicks.

Good to see you here Sam! Put up a build thread about the Gem :D
Turns out, far too much has been written about great men and not nearly enough about morons

also its probably worth noting when we went to gunnedah drags and had a nos solenoid failure we ran the car N/A all weekend and managed a best of 9.4 over the 1/8th, so thats about your target for a good quick stock motor without nos.

No one would be interested in a turbo 202 in a gemini on methanol

Thanks alot mate, good to see a few people interested in the build, photos to come, at the moment im on to a mini spool, so hopefully get it cheaper than the price they want $100. Then all i need is a set of gears 4.11, shifter kit and install nitrous, then start stripping the car. Ill be happy if i can get it into high 9s on the 1/8th mile.

if you have street radials on it i doubt you'll have too many tractions issues on a proper sticky drag strip.

How is welded different to minispool? Aside from being a total shitcunt and the weld falling out and getting eaten by the gears
