At the moment there is precisely 0kg on the towball and I would like to end up with at least 80kg. Water tank will be in
front of the axle as well.

Try and keep it light on the ball for a Wrangler, REALLY light if you can work out a way to keep the mass centred.

Will that box get awfully close to the spare wheel if you drop into a gully offroad?

Gats, he's extending draw bar length.

Shep, does look right but I have even less to go on then you.

Ah don't mind me. I thought that was the final mocked up position of the hitch.

My other camper tows real well with the wrangler and it is 120kg towball weight empty so loaded would be more like 150kg.

Even though it is a couple 100kg over max tow weight the car handles it very well.

Still canít work out how a Jimny has a higher tow rating than a SWB wrangler...

Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
Jimmy tow rating was different in Qld and the rest of AUS due to different importing companies.

Anyway a longer draw bar will be smoother to tow and better to reverse, but make it strong if you are putting a genset on it.

Not sure what QLD has got to do with anything and towing overweight will never be a issue for me because I live in the middle of nowhere.
What I want is aircon and fuel range when I do desert trips.

I have a long drawbar on my box trailer and it sucks to reverse as it takes ages to turn so I think I made it to long.

Interdasting. Well enough to hook up a good deal? Hate the shitfight hitch on my camper and one of these would be ace.

I am thinking about this long but only because it looks about right.

Also scored a pretty neat drawbar box to store generator, battery etc
Box is excellent and again exactly what I'm chasing for mine. Is that a Tradetools or B&R box?

This is all that is on the box. It is possibly made in the NT as it was cheaper then the freight on a box from the east coast.

                            it.
The Jimnys is still not great, but where it should be. I was more referring to the fact the SWB wranglers tow rating is ridiculously low. A SWB wrangler will tow a LOT better than a Jimny, however legally you can tow less.

Still waiting for the springs to turn up, hopefully be here for the weekend as I have some spare time to get stuck in.

Ended up with 200x50x2 for the chassis and a eBay special poly block hitch.
