laptop isn't smoking too badly now that it's cooled down. oh, wait i see what i've done there. no i took the battery out for a bit (20 seconds) and put it back in and made no difference.

went home on lunch to get a vid and forgot my fricken garage keys so i'll have to do it tonight if i can find the time as i'm going out after work.

Acer Aspire mini thing. 10" screen. it's covered under warranty but i'm worried it may have been something to do with the driver and they'll bill us a fortune for the repair

I would doubt a driver would do that. If it was driver most likely it would just stuff up Windoze, and by the sounds of it it's not even getting to the boot-up-windoze part.

the bios has reset itself, its a common fault for those. my sister's has done it 3 times. theres a fix for it, you can download some files onto a usb stick, put it in the laptop, hold down the right combination of keys and it will reset itself off the usb stick. just google the model number of the laptop (it's on the bottom) and the issue and you should be able to sort it without a drama

It's probably that awful screen you have on the front of the turbo making so much restriction that it vacuums oil past the seals..

uh the video has been there for like 4 hours

and for all you other cunts, get fucked, you need the right codec

or if you download 'super' video converter you can play it with that by opening it in the bottom box and clicking 'play'... you can also try to convert it but i didn't have any luck, it converts to mpg fine but it plays at a ridiculous speed
