All together, but the clutch is not biting. I took it for a 100m ride and the clutch takes up really late, and as soon as the throttle is opened (well before boost) it spins to redline. Something as simple as needing to be bled?

It's just strange, as this is what it did on the way back from the dyno. It rode fine for the first few minutes then just suddenly spun straight to redline, then wouldn't really bite at all. Wasn't really an issue as I know from the other few people that have turbo'd these that the stock springs are no good at this power level. So, I upgraded the clutch springs... but first ride and it slips exactly the same.

            Thoughts?

                  Torque limiter fucking things up?

Nah it's only a back-torque limiter. It's square drive forwards, angled drive backwards.

As the clutch slave is sort of an integral part of the clutch, I wonder if there's some trick I needed to know - perhaps I'll read the destructions?

Bled the fluid this morning, it's fine.

Insufficient preload on the clutch springs?

I'm not sure about that. The lever is heavier than it was before, so there is obviously more clamp, but it does bite a lot later in the lever travel.

The springs are torqued and loaded to spec and although they're shorter than the stock springs, the spring shop was aware of the loaded height & deflection so it would be fair to say that this has been taken into consideration. All they do is make springs, so it would be reasonable to run with the assumption that the springs

The other thing is that the bike rode fine when I left the dyno, but about 5km up the road the clutch slipped straight to redline.

The only thing I'm thinking is... it's slipping now like it was before so I'm wondering if (although the clutch needs to be upgraded anyway) there is another issue that has actually come up and I've just jumped to the conclusion that the springs were the problem.

Perhaps you cooked the shit out of the clutch plates...& as soon as it gets warm it slips & saves you from yourself?

Just had a thought - what oil have you been running?

As it isn't in there long, I've just been using the oil I drain out of my GF's Barina.

                              Motul 5100 if I remember.

Plates are all good (pic a page or two back).

Yeah, I figured you'd be using a good bike specific oil - lotta people don't, and wonder why their clutches slip.

Could be the slave cylinder hanging up/pumping up? Thinking about it some more, the slip up to redline sounds more like it's not engaging properly more than the clutch pack slipping...
