Looks like the inlet gave some top end improvement, but not a lot. I reckon there's still more to be found with shorter/larger runners.....but, if the final plan is a 16v head then may as well save the pennies fir a custom manifold for that head?
I think if you see it as 30whp at 1.3bar and just under 50whp at 1.5bar by intake alone then that's not a bad gain. There's a 54 in this car around there which is pretty quick so I can't see too many more mechanical changes made this year...I hope!

Thanks George. Yes, I'm sure had I known I did a 58 flat I could have got into the 57's which is not bad for this layout. I see a 56 in the future but as you'd possibly agree, when you don't drive these things very often it's a bit like starting again each time. We've had more seat time than you of late but as I don't have your youthful talent I need as much as possible.

Congrats on the build, great to see something really really fast that isn't an EVO/GTR.. I bet its more fun to drive too!

Thanks. It's a handful on some levels...well certainly for my abilities. But it's also exhilarating with rwd, no abs or traction control of any sort. We are slowly making it more driveable but with that comes more speed which in turn seems to make the corners come up sooner. Funny that! Paul said that driving the Pulse Evo was like cheating by comparison. AWD and the diffs/brakes are super impressive in that car compared to our Stone Age Yabba Dabba Do-Time setup. Satisfying to get right though. :-)

Great times in that 944. Yes I agree evos come out of the factory cheating.

Thanks. I say cheating with tongue in cheek. That they can make such a good car out of the box is to be applauded. Our car is pretty basic but I suppose we could say LSD is a driver aid. (Not that kind of LSD!) So it's all relative. Not that it's recognised as much but we can still go for rwd honours too.

If your car is basically standard and just using R-specs your times are astounding I never realised 944s were that good. I will be watching at time attack
                  with interest.

Well I guess it depends on what you term standard. It's still got stock steel floorpan, pillars, roof, rear bumper/tail, pre war trailing arm rear suspension, McStrut fronts, single cam 8v head, balance shafts, turbo in original (wrong side of motor) position, H pattern gearbox, no abs, traction control, no diffuser or flat underbody past the splitter, stock rear brakes and whatever else I've forgotten. Having said that we've managed to modify a lot of what's on there too. But I think it's closer to the original car than many others.

                        Definitely stock then.

So Paul is driving it in open yeah? Will you be having a crack in pro am? You should at least have a crack at your girlfriend rather than sitting on the couch watching somebody else giving her a right rodgering.

Seen mick Sigsworths mental evo? Might have to dig deep into the house deposit for that sequential and flat bottom to compete with him in pro am, he could very well be in contention for an outright podium in that million dollar beast of his.

                          lol...
I can also drive it in Open but it hardly seems worth it. I might do a 'parade' lap during a slow session just for kicks. I would be happy to get into say the 1:35's but ever since unveiling this version of the car I have not driven as fast as possible due to the voice in my head saying "Just don't bin it now!" So apart from talent and experience, I am always a fair bit slower than Paul. Only by 2 seconds at SMP South but at GP it will be quite a bit more. Once we get through WTAC I might have more of a go. Just can't afford any 'interruptions' both time wise and financially. Don't have the Sigsworth budget at my disposal. Very impressive build that one!!
ps...we're doing the last PCNSW event on Sept 20th on the GP layout. Porsche vs BMW car club day. We should have some more Aero mods done and while we'll be on used AO50's I think we should get a pretty good indication of where we're heading for Oct. Swing past Mick.

Mick have you got another car?
My bad 333 I think its go more than the usual remap, exhaust, cheap coilovers running on R-specs.
                            Still astonishingly fast thou.

Haha, no not standard but definitely closer to the original than it might appear from the outside. The car has a .57 in it for W.Park, a .54 for SMP South and we hope a sub .30 for the GP layout. Time will tell.
Next year we will probably try it on slicks for the Club rounds. Just need to find the right slick??
