    Well I do try hard...
These are the doors I will use for VicV8's. I will gut them and make some plastic windows. Just pulled them out and grabbed a pack of cut off wheels. ;)

You can take a lot out of them. If you have a cage, you can take the side intrusions out as well. Rears in my vk were totally chopped up and weighed peanuts

It has a cage. The front doors feel very heavy. Would be good to loose 50kgs or more just from the doors. 20kg loss from the bodykit swap. And 25kgs from the bonnet and boot. Will be surprised if I can't get about 100kg loss.

Side intrusions are pretty thick and glass is heavy. Have fun cutting away

Thought the bonnets & guards were fairly light on these..front doors & boot do feel heavy

Lightweight bonnet could be cost effective if counted how many windscreens break on these things.
an easy fix is get a mate to drive in front of you at 60 then 80 then 100 and mark in on your speedo with some liquid paper.

You wouldn't want the bonnet to be too lightweight, in case the hinges fuck out and you fold the cunt in half

The bonnet is very heavy. I will need to keep the hinges greased maybe so they don't get stuck.
I uploaded 3 dodgy videos holding the iPad in front of the laptop.

This is the last lap of qualifying, it was good enough to put me in P2. The track is still very cold and damp, so there isn't a lot of grip. Even Mark who is a seasoned driver (been driving his car for about 15 years and normally wins every race) could only manage to go 0.7 seconds quicker. Pretty much every corner I had to feed in opposite lock. If only I had a run on Sunday when it was better conditions.

I fitted the bumper up to the car, it doesn't look like a good fit with VN parts. But I am lucky I didn't have to modify the front bar as it's 118mm off the ground, so with the splitter on, it should be just above the minimum height of 100mm.
I went down to my neighbours Commodore wreckers and grabbed some new original, some 2nd hand, and some Taiwanese parts to convert it to VP.
Parts I got are- VP rear bumper, VP headlight lenses, VP indicators, VP boot garnish, VP taillights and VP grille. All I need are now are guards, or just cut out the blinker hole bigger to suit the VP shape.

I did consider buying a whole car. This lot cost me more than the last VN I bought as a good running car. They are worth nothing whole. And a fortune in parts.

After doing all the work on the fastback MX5 roof and other jobs, the garage was in need of a proper clean. It's pretty much all I have done all week with any spare time I have had. A VicV8 guy posted on Facebook looking for 18x9.5 wheels to suit a VN. So he ended up buying the wheels and slicks. Now the 17's are back on and will only be used for pushing the car around. I ordered 18x9's so I have the right size for IPRA.
Part of the big garage clean up was to get this car into the single garage bay space. Now I can get to work doing the full VP Supercar transformation.
Here it will sit for the next few weeks. I can foresee plenty of late nights coming up so I can get this ready on time.

Pity not in same town would have swapped vp parts off my ute.

Only real difference with guards aside from blinker shape is vp have blinker repeaters otherwise trim your guards.

Keen to see weight difference with doors & bonnet.

The most important thing I need a hand with is the wiring. The rest of it is straight forward. Kind of. I need to work out some smart way to mount the bumpers.
I will weigh the doors before and after, as well as the boot and bonnet and body kit. Then next time at Phillip island I will weigh it.

I'm not too bad with wiring. Not a pro, but not a chump, lol
