I approve of your choice of racecat. Love AE82's for some reason.

Me too, TWIN CAM Secas are the shizzle. Hatches aren't bad either. Rare birds these days!

First start this morning (racecars dont need batteries??) Goes MEOW MEOW!.
                  https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8B...1o2ams/preview

                  Private Road Quick Test Run:
                  https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8B...ew?usp=sharing

Seems very flat / hesitant below 4k rpm, but then picks up. Took a coworker for a run (he was there painting his burnout car) and his comment was that it reminded him of a two stroke coming "on band".
Feels faster than it looks. Certainly brings a smile.
I was thinking perhaps the TVIS was stuck open, but a mate that has experience with these "cats" suggests his was stuck open and wasn't noticable.
He suggests possible running lean / ignition problems.
Proposal of new plugs and leads, check the intake gaskets.

Has a bit of a cold start issue. Think it probably is the cold start injector.

Wonder if it's over supply (might explain poor low end power).

Pay week this week. Will get new plugs, filter, oil and fuel. See if I can afford leads also and maybe see if I can get it on a dyno to visualise how it's running

                          Do these have an LSD?

                          What's it need for rego?

I never ran one on mine, only left it bolted in because I couldn't be bothered fixing the vacuum leak and fuel leak I would have created by removing it. Unplug it (electrically) to check maybe?

watching that video makes me think it might be the circuit opening relay (fuel pump not priming) though I just ran a normal relay on my fuel pump (it would only turn the fuel pump on when the engine was turning over) and that didn't cause any problems.

Actually, that's a good point. I seem to remember when I hooked up the battery that came with it (which was not good enough to crank), pushing the start button I think I heard the pump start running while I held the button in.

Will investigate further next weekend I'm here..

Bought a donor interstate. Going to bring door locks, ignition barrell, front seats, and carpet back in the trailer if the weather isn't bad.

Maybe also the south Australian number plates.. .. [emoji14]
