Yep, KAAZ seems like the one to have - just need some budget :)

          Looks like it Roy.
Not enough experience in a special to take it up to the top couple. And the cars about 75hp down on the Honda’s.
Good result for the first year in the car tho.

With the work Christmas party coming up, I decided to add a pressure limiting valve to the rear brakes.

With the ABS removed there is a fair bit of rear bias and since we were going to a race circuit, it seemed like a good time to get this sorted.

I went with a Willwood lever type so I could change on-the-fly if required.
Add some Goodridge fittings and a bracket and we are set.

CBF getting it off the trailer (don't have a shed I can get the car into at home, so it doesn't make a hell of a difference!)

Worked out where it should go and drilled holes and used nutserts to mount it.

And of course, despite making sure I had the right brake line, I cut the wrong one.
Anyway, -3AN junction and all fixed.

Bled the brakes and seems to work - time will tell.

Took Murray out to Luddenham for the work Christmas Party - we had the track to ourselves :)

              Vehicle list was:

GT86 Time Attack car (Timmy) VK56 powered
              Tarmac Rally 260Z 3 litre L series
              Datsun 1600 SR20DET
              GT86 - 86 Series race car
              Murray the Commodore
              Bugeye WRX caged but stock
              Current model WRX stock
              GT86 stock

We could do passenger rides in Timmy - it has a shedload of grunt and grip. It was doing <51 second laps while being very cautious with the bosses car!

The 260Z was pretty fast (53 sec laps) but I didn't get a chance to ride in that.Full MCA gold suspension, fabricated crossmember F&R, etc - proper race car.

Since the 1600's owner was driving Timmy, our mechanic drove it - about 56 secs a lap - it still needs some sorting.

The GT86 race car was great - not a lot of grunt but you could keep pushing harder and harder and it would just do what you wanted it to. Great fun!

The stock cars just went round and round with grins on the owner's faces.

The brake bias I had set turned out to be too little at the rear, so a couple of clicks forward and it was balanced.

I did a 1:00.5xx first fast lap and then 1:00.xxx for as many laps as I wanted. Best lap was 59.855 so I was pretty happy.
Murray did about 50 laps all up - the only issue is the understeer wore the front tyres out!

It needs some more camber if it if we want to do any more bitumen.

Pretty quite over Christmas with this thing due to blowing up the tow car.

I have wanting to do one of the Twighlight Rallysprints at Sydney Dragway for while and so entered Murray into the one Feb 14 (Valentines Day of course - just to make the nopics happy!)

Once new tow tug was procured, I took Murray over to Hoonboy's shed to see if we could get a bit of neg camber going.

Out came the angle grinder and die grinder and the result was 4.5 degrees on both front wheels, although had to use spacers to get the wheels to clear the struts.

Also fabbed up a light bar and mounts behind the bumper.
The holes in the bumper didn't come out as expected, so another bumper cover is on the cards.

Ready to go at the rallysprint!

So we got 5 runs in - plus a rerun where another competitor smashed their way through some of the barriers.

We were seeded 82 out of 86 - ended up 44th, so happy with that.

Didn't touch anything mechanically on the car all night, only tyre pressures and driving light adjustments.

I think the semis are at about the end of their life, so dirt events only for a while.

Well done, I am keen to get out to one of the twilight events this year.

Out of interest does it need that much neg? Seems like an awful lot but I don't know Commodores.

Google suggests yes, bum suggests yes.

It was a lot less understeery out of corners compared with same car/same tyres at Luddenham.
Only changes were camber (0.5 to 4.5) and a change from zero toe to +2mm toe (plus 25mm wheel spacers to allow front wheels to fit).
                      No changes to rear.

I'm running high ride height, so lots of body roll to allow for as well.
