The gay line was just a follow on from Smelly's Toyota Echo/Yaris which is a nice car, I wonder what her husband drives... :p

So far am very impressed with car - i was looking at Sti and forester as well but I guess I saw the liberty as being the better buy second hand and probably was teh car that best suited me out of the three.

Got a manual one - never contemplated an auto for a second. I know automatics are getting better and better but I dont care if the automatic featured clutchless paddle shifting, buttons on teh steering wheel, blips the throttle, 3 millisecond shifts, hand comes from under the seat and caresses your balls everytime you shift, I like a plain old manual gearbox with a clutch thank you.

Also came close to buying a new one but 63K drive-away for a new one compared to a 15month old one and saving over 20K made the decision very easy for me. Had to be a little paitent to find a manual one but found a good one with low kms and a motivated seller and I paid a deposit the same day I first viewed the car.

Plans for now are some 18" pro-drive rims(wanted to leave stock rims but don’t like that Subaru run the same rim on virtually every liberty model), some springs and shocks and some sort of exhaust but I want something discrete and preferably OEM like Sti/genome.

        Stage 2
Replacement top mount, turbo and brake upgrade will be next and am already keeping an eye out for 2nd hand bits as many Subaru bits will fit so no shortage of parts. Probably these combined with an ECUTEK should be good for about 200kw atw *

*This stage will not be disclosed to the wife.
