These are replacing the 9" CR-Kai. But I'll only have a 235 tyre under there for the moment. Yes, something wider would be better (needed), but fitting that something wider will be a challenge for a later date.Originally posted by Rona View PostWheels are awesome though want you want a little more then a 8.5 on the back unless that is as big as you can fit?
In a good way or a bad way?Originally posted by bigmuz View PostYou continue to surprise me Clayton.
No, I didn't. I'm thinking I'll sell the Work wheels and try and pick up another set of Merc wheels so I can at least have a spare to chuck in the boot!Originally posted by oliveoyl View PostMerc wheels ftw. Clayto - did they have a 2nd set?

Black just screams "Pull me over". No black wheels.Originally posted by BoganDAVE View PostMerc wheels need to be black
Well, since the powdercoating fuck up with the wheels, they came back on to the table for me. I decided I wanted something a bit less "racey" in appearance. If I get pulled over, there's no way to hide what is going on underneath. So my aim is to try real hard not to get pulled over!Originally posted by bigmuz View PostI don't know any more :D
I thought the only parts that wasn't up for discussion were the wheels and brakes :D
And my impatience in dealing with the issue of the calipers leaking allowed the opportunity to re-think that as well.

LOL. I'll have everything mod plated. But you can bet there'll be a copper who'll use his own interpretation of the law to find something wrong.Originally posted by Rona View PostGrab neutral and turn the fucker off ASAP:p.

I missed this edit. I was initially keen to do an NA build as was Al. I'd nearly pulled the trigger a couple of times on box fulls of throttle bodies to do just that. But as it closer to the date of book in, I was more and more convinced I wanted to go turbo because if I went NA, what would I do with it if I wanted more hump?.Originally posted by myshortyboomba View Postmerc wheels and SL600 brakes are a winning idea. smart move.
why didn't you do that a year ago instead doing those other dumbarse wheel/brake ideas that are now redundant.
while on a rant: the single smartest thing you ever did with this car was put a turbo on the V12 IMO. Who's idea was it after all the rubbish?
Your car frustrates me emotionally. Which is to be taken as a compliment, because I have put 16 minutes of thought into it. Which is 15 minutes more than 90% of the cars on here.
By the time I dropped it off, Al was party to it. And on the first day of work when the engine was sitting in the car, it was pretty clear that any decent sort of extractors would be very difficult (read expensive) to build. And so the turbo decision was sealed.
Why does it frustrate you? Because of the many rabbit holes I've gone down and the silly amounts of money that have been wasted in the process - only to arrive it this pretty ridiculous, yet pretty cool end point? Or maybe that is just me....
