Clayto, I'd still be driving my liberty around chopping everyone and having a great time if I'd have had a cookie and put a softer clutch in it after the $1k gearbox rebuild.

Seriously. Put the car cover on it and eat a cookie. Don't make my mistake.

I'd gone away from the track car idea anyway, was going back down the street car path.

This was not an easy decision come to in haste. But it is an easier decision for me to make now when I haven't driven the car. I appreciate the sentiments though.

Az, I'm thinking perhaps the engine/gearbox/ecu combo might be a good combo to try and sell all together first.

CM, these engines require pretty significant sump work to fit in a MK4 Supra from my understanding. MK3 and earlier might be easier.

I am sad as you are so close but at the same time i understand where you are coming from.

You're going to do what you are going to do so I won't offer any advice other than its worth more running than not.

                        what they all said.

get it to a 'finished' state, and then either sell it, or realise that selling it was a monumentally terrible idea, and keep it.

my old car end up owning me. spent years and 1000's getting it just right, then 6 weeks later it nuked a valve and fucked the motor. returned it to stock and sold it. best feeling ever. i could have put it back together, put it all in a race car etc. sold it and relaxed for the first time in 12 months.

do what your gut is telling you.

Confirmed this is the right course of action. My wife and I both slept like logs last night.

Sorry it's come to this Clayto, I know that you are not one to make rash decisions so I'm sure this is the right thing to do to keep the balance in you and your families life. Maybe senior Clayto will buy it for a father/son project in a few years time?! You know when he is retired and doesn't know what to spend all his money on!! I'm sure your mum would be stoked with the idea??!!
