          Cheers for that
I have heard of him, he actually sells/exports alternators for air cooled Porks

          Didn't know he was a 914 tragic.

And yes, only strange dudes would want a 914

yeah he has a cast setup that converts falcon 80a/100a alternators to suit a wide range of porshce crap.

ive seen him do a few 914 rewires, all looks pretty neat. he did my datsun and did a fantastic job. I believe hes putting some 911 donk in his, boxster s monoblock brakes, bla bla bla. I like that its unique and its a porshce that owned not as a status sybol, but out of insanity and passion

Are you going to put the 914-6 GT flares on it?

Then I would need wide tyres and then more power, then...

I am happy with the narrow look and 205 wide tyres

Nice to see I am not the only one that sucks at the interweb

                      Red X FTW!

I really do like the look of these things. I remember seeing one in a Euro Porka magazine that was fitted with new-ish 911 running gear and a huge wide body kit that gave me a bit of a woody

Lucky you bought one with minimal rust.....why are they so bad when 911 Porkas seem to avoid rust??

A mate of mine has one of those shitty 914 with a 944 nose conversions....it is not a nice car.

Early 911s were very prone to rust in Europe/USA as well.
From model year 1974 911s were made from zinc coated steel and had a 6 year corrosion warranty. Therefore post '74 911s are all good.

The 914s were never built with zinc steel and the vast majority were sold in USA.

It is not a great leap from there to salted roads, cold winters, etc.

The other issue is that the targa top can leak, so the thing fills up like a bathtub...

The battery is on the RHS of the engine bay and before sealed batteries were available, the rain used to wash acid from the battery down on the RHS chassis rail, causing significant issues.

                              cheers

Cool, definitely a bit of a left field project!

Found this pic of one recently, I like it for some reason.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe, and from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip-malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moments lost in time; gone like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die.
