There is a good yellow one that competes as part of the NSW Porsche club. He tarmac rallies it quite a bit. Not sure what engine he has, but it was doing 1:13s round Wakefield, which isn't too shabby for what it was. Especially seeing as my best on the day was a 1.11!

the only real option is to put in a 3.6 varioram!, actually any 3.6 will do. if you are after any bits, send me a message, i work for a porsche specialist here in bris. i know for a fact we have a good box for it. Various other parts too. If you already have the front axles off a 911, i can organise big reds disks and adapters at a reasonable price, pagid blues included.

          Further list of known parts

CDI boxes, 6 and 3 pin.
          early turbo 930 brakes
coilover front struts (suit rose jointedtie rods)
          koni adjustable inserts
          ss1i headers
          2.7 kjet fuel injection setup
          fuchs wheels 7's 8's
          selection of torsion bars
          various porsche vdo guages
          various 911 seats (trimmed)
          914 gearbox
          3.6 270hp

You can use a 915 box upside down, swapping the breather position. if you need any particular part, let me know, we have the junk stock piled. Boss can't bring himself to clearing it all out.

              Yes :sandyvag:

After a list of shit that needed doing including swapping engines in the missus' Commodore, sorting out my Daughters Mazda Astaina AND her galant, various Sigma of Death issues, various jobs for Jimmy on his Patrol and rebuilding the engine in the Maverick, I finally got around to clearing out the carport and made a start on the Pork

Since last post, I have bought and assembled and tested the Megasquirt ECU, the Ford EDIS module, Coil packs, and 36-1 toothed wheel and sensor.

I also have a Innovate LC-1 WB O2 kit to go with it.

I still have to sort out the inlet manifold, but that is just a case of getting the K-jet runners and fabricating a plenum to suit the VN throttle body I am using.

I spent last weekend tackling the chassis stiffening kit. By all accounts it makes a worthwhile difference.

              914 Chassis Kit

Sound Deadening removed and floorpan wire brushed

The the kit pieces were modified so they would work with a RHD conversion :knock:

I used self-drilling screws to hold the pieces tight into body whilst I welded.

                A few welds later...

Between running out of gas, running out of wire, the wire jamming in the tip, the wire feed fucking up and my welding ability - this was quite an effort!!

Then, of course, there was lots of grinding to be done

And then it was time to paint

And that's it for the time being.

                  cheers

What happens to the exposed steel behind the strengthening? I can see moisture getting in and causing some problems down the track?

Someone once asked me if they could use my mower. I said "sure, so long as it doesn't leave my yard"

The paint will seal everything up, including the edges where moisture would like to get in..

The guys in the states have been doing this for years without issues, and they have much worse rust-inducing weather.

It is more likely that the rust will come through from the other side to where I welded :knock:

                        cheers

                              Not much at the moment.

I have started to graft a Magna steering column into it, so I get late model switches, etc and I can get the wheel about 25mm closer to the seat.

Since I am a single Dad now, time and cash are in very short supply

But the good news is I am getting the motivation back, so things will start to happen over the next few months...

                              cheers
