I guess it started when my parents gave me the family sedan (white ms65) as a first car, and from there of course I began to make it go faster. This was 1991, and I worked out I could put a 7M/5M etc in it (but back then 7Ms were pretty pricey and the whole import yard thing hadn't taken off yet-not to mention having to do all the research via the telephone as the internet didn't exist in the same way it does now). One day in 1994 I found the coupe in the trading post and just had to have it - and from there the disease blossomed.

Here are a couple of shots of it on the day I brought the bloody thing home.(94)

Here are some shots of the car in late 96 when it was 'finished'

Just outta interest, at what point did you have to give up on it being a street car?

I know it didn't start out with the 1FZ, but didn't you say it was one of the few cars that would fit one without too much cutting?

              Haha, awesome...

Shit, you've had this car since 94...thats some good work dude. I don't think I know anyone that has had a car that long and done so many mods to it. Must of hurt a little when cutting the trans tunnel and so on...
I survived the patio flooding catastrophe of 2012.

True Flopper - I did say that - but with it in place the harmonic balancer was only 15mm from the radiator, and there was no room for fans on the back of the rad either. It fitted - but now I'm making it fit properly by modding the firewall etc.

It did hurt a bit cutting it up, but it's also pretty interesting to get to the point where I feel confident enough to start hacking into it without being terrified that I'll screw it up. (well, I hope not anyway)

Here are some more progress pics of the turbo in position.
In this position it will fit under the hood line. Any closer to the motor and it would have had to be standing more upright, and hence would have been sticking out of the hood by 150mm. I'll need to go for a remote booster, but it should all fit, including a humungous air filter.

the scary thing is, that snail makes the 1FZ look about the size of an SR20 - the engine IS one big bitch though!

Thats not a turbocharger, thats a turbine from a power-station or something.

Still one of my favourite cars on PF.
Don't worry, thats just the self-preservation instinct, in my experience you can safely ignore it.

Must be handy to be able to change valves by whacking your fist down the ports,.
