Assembled and plumbed the fuel system this arv over a few beers. It's all ready to go.
I had trouble finding a .5" pre filter for the fill pump. Ended up ringing one of the local parts guys and he says they can do a Z200 with .5" fittings.(Z200 by description is a commodore generic fuel filter with 8mm fittings). I wanted a Z200 for the main efi filter anyway so I says, yeah give me one of those and a normal Z200. Sure enough I get 2 Z200's as described. Will post part number if needed.
Here's the assembled back half. The Z200 8mm filter is up the front on the chassis rail.
if you went 10mm line size a Z586 would be the way to go. Or used metal lines for a Z373 filter or made some fittings that would allow the rubber line to go on some pipe with pipe nuts that will bolt on to the Z373. The Z373 is also a common filter. I can see the Z200 being obosleted and replace with teh Z578 soon. Look at both filters not much of a difference between them.
I should be fiddling with this on the weekend but am going to make exhaust manifolds for the VH45 instead because that requires less organisation.
Dennis, we sorted the 2JZX100 auto, it was spd2, 12 pole instead of 4 so was changing into top as soon as you move as the speed pulse was times 3. Unpinned it and it's perfect. Goes like stink too.
Got pulled over by the PoPo on the way home for making farkin whoosh noises. They let me off with a light truncheoning and 50 lashes rather than shooting me on site. I was in the driveway of my kids kindy too.

Fixed.
Good to hear the JZX100 is fixed. How did you end up figuring that out? I found you can cut SP2 right out and it still runs fine. That is what I had to do to eliminate my mystery speed cut.
Bad luck on the cops pulling you over, lucky they didn't fuck your arse too hard. I have never been looked at in the R31 ever. (touch wood) Sleeper FTW.

Some conclusions empirically were that a large protruding ridge like a prolapsed arsehole around the runner was largely beneficial.

I doubt it seeing as the 578 is designed for clip on fuel fittings. Yeah you can force hose over it but I somehow doubt companies are going to make z200's obsolete just because you 'can' use something else with different ends.
Both got 1JZ-GEs, but then they're more about restoration and preservation than fasts.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe, and from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip-malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moments lost in time; gone like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die.

Did a bit today in preparation of a visit from his Chuckness. Thought I better get it running and skidworthy(apart from lack of steering column).
Mounted and plumbed up the auto cooler and filter and bolted the front of the car back on. Filled it with ATF and water and fired it up. Got gears and drive. Check. Got 2JZ powahz. Check. Got Steering column and wheel. Negative, the pattern is full.
Anyhoo, it starts and runs and drives the wheels, beer time.
Auto cooler under floor and filter in chassis rail.
Another engine bay shot that I loaded to photo bucket so thought I should post.
