Dave was gearbox, and he had jesus backing him up. Who isn't real and therefore no help.
I just drove the 8 hour round trip to keyboard and do a dodgy warranty repair on alternator wiringPest Control - Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich and South West QLD PF discounts apply.

managed a 1.5 60 foot off the brake and it felt like it was hooking on the sticky track, unfortunately, no second gear made for a pretty shit back half to the 1/8th.
Car is off to gearbox guy, to get him to set it all up and send it back working. Car is going to need some decent suspension work is it stays cranked up on the left, not surprising with the dodgy old shocks in the back and 90/10s in the front (which are wrong for the kind of tyre). I was planning to mini-tub it for a 275, but I like the idea of the new 235 radial class at KendaOriginally posted by Turbo YodaI <3 Hamster

1.50 isnt bad. Early commodores are pretty straight forward.
Sounds like you needed more tyre pressure on the day, tiniest bit of spin better than dead hook.
Anti roll bar in rear will help with twist. Viking double adjustment rear shocks are the go at the moment at about $900 a pair. Adjustable upper control arms are a must, get them square, pinion nose down 2 degrees down.
Lot of guys are moving away from 90/10s especially on dedicated radial, just using standard shock.
Without changing lower control arm pivot points its hard to change geometry a great deal, but plenty of 8s cars on 255 or 275 untubbed running with these setupsOriginally posted by 50RTDDave, have you uploaded the data from the carby?

It hasn’t had a hard launch yet. The 1.5 was lazy off the brake. There’s heaps on the table, we just need another 20 Laos to make it work.Pest Control - Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich and South West QLD PF discounts apply.

Got adjustable arms, haven’t chnged them from standard yet, because 2 decent brake launches. Price on the Viking shocks sounds okay, I will need something to tame some of the squat as it just laid over in the right rear. 90/10s will go in the bin at some pointOriginally posted by Turbo YodaI <3 Hamster

Fastest i've been off foot brake is 1.42, koni yellows in rear, bit cheaper.
Play with tyre pressure and pinion angle first.
Anti roll kits can be had for $450-500, just weld in yourself, that squares up launch and steadies car. Or can use an inflatable spring bag in right rear
Vikings have both valving for radial and slick, so check before ordering. McDonald brothers should have them in stockOriginally posted by 50RTDDave, have you uploaded the data from the carby?
