Probably none. You would be suprised how easy it is to pull the dash out of these. Which is handy with the vacuum A/C controls.
At least this one doesn't have an ancient car alarm with it's added rats nest under there, or an ecu either.

No you haven't, I can now sleep.

as much as it looks like a total mess I think I have got my head around what needs to be done with the wiring, shouldn't be too difficult. Lots of things to do in the engine bay though, for max pimpness.

I had a cunt of a time getting this to bits today, not sure why, I have pulled a few of them to bits. All the fan / ac and heater stuff will be pissed off, although I will run some 12v fans to the screen for rego reasons. Should be a piece of piss.

I had a Bell Vector LR (that's a hidden radar detector for you poor cunts) and a super dooper alarm system to thread out of the wiring harness today and trying not to fuck up anything else.

going to order a 'Painless' 18circuit system and rewire the fcuker

I would almost be better off doing the same, but I am hoping I can sort the spaghetti out.

I am pulling out every bit of unnecessary weight out from under the dash, seeing as I have the cunt out and won't want to ever again.

agree, there was 30years of shit and stuff in there, the last time i didn't even go this far and still found 2 stubby holders, 4 lighters, some polystyerene balls and heaps of 5 and 10c pieces.

had this car for 12years now and under the dash was the final frontier, kind of like doing your misuss in th...

So the digital dash isn't going back in? I reckon you would loose a fair bit of weight even if you just replace all the harnes and switches with later model stuff. I had both our VK and VS dashes apart and the VK stuff was massively over engineered compared to the VS stuff, probably explains why the VS had so many dramas while the VK was trouble free.

                  Fuck I want another VK.

you need a demister for rego reasons so run a couple of 12v heater & fan units. they will not have the capacity to demist though but if it is for rego reasons only then it doesn't matter.

yeah, will be a piece of piss to jam some of those in the air lines.

not technically correct, because a replacement demister must be of equivalent "capacity" to the original.

Ive never seen a 12v demister that did anything meaningful, and i looked at heaps when i pissed the heater off in my car.

my suggestion is to forget about it altogether, youre really wasting your time with shitty 12v stuff on that size screen.

My engineer was happy with me using two 12v hair dryers plumbed into the original pipes. There is nothing about how well it works in his book, only says must have a demister

                              well thats good to know.

Ill have to dig out my paperwork for the actual wording, but i guess following the "intent" of the rule might be enough for some engineers.

another guy might not pass it, the ones i spoke to here didnt want a bar of it lol.

most of that stuff is open to interpretation i suppose, but the "right" of roadworthiness still lies with the shitheads at the RTA.

It's QLD - the only time you need a demister is when it's raining.

"The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."
