http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=96144 tempted to send one or two of these back for the fleet of 02s back at home with buggered heaters and/or fans - thoughts? or is the hairdryer still lookng to be the win?
the problem i had with the heaters i tried was they couldnt sustain any heat more than a few inches from the outlets.
the fans "blew the fire out" so to speak.
Im no heating dude, but a 250w electric heater wouldnt go anywhere near the amount of heat a hot water/factory fan deal will provide, i suppose a smarterer could work it out from the fan cfm and temp drop across the core, but honestly who gives a fuck i suppose.
I didnt bother doing anything in the end because it all got too hard and convection from the engine/trans keeps the car plenty warm lol.
"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."
I haven't used mine in real life yet but i put them on a battery and there not that great but ive mounted them close to the underside of the dash and the piping is staight up and short and hot air rises so im hoping they'll have some effect.
My experience of the thing was trying to keep warm in winter in one, they're not brilliant - and would be hard to adapt, but was reasonably warm if you didn't have the fan on full tilt. Electric heaters are gunna need more that 250w to do much.
