$195 in fittings and tube so not far off.

Cheers mate, if it weren't for the other car this would have been well done by now... just chipping away at it when i can.

Looking forward to tune, just trying to work out what sort of power it will make on 18psi (if dramas aren't encountered) on PULP.... anywhere over 400rwhp would be nice :D

This is a fantastic car, I reckon what you have done with it is unreal.

It seems odd though that you went for a filter on top of the catch can and mounted it in plain sight for mr policeman to write up a ticket for it?

I'm hearing you. Not much I could have done really. It's a wind off dash-12 filter so planning on picking up a cap for it in the hope I can swap it out quick enough if need be. Potentially i could run a -12 line and mount the filter in the guard as well.

Also might be not a bad thing having one easy to spot defect so they don't start looking too hard lol

-12 90, short length of -12 black hose, -12 bulkhead fitting on the inner guard, filter on the other side with a shield/drip tray.

That sounds like a bit of a plan. Will have a look and see where I could chuck it.

Inner guard is out as it's all mega tight but might be able to go down though.

Jon: This looks great, so well detailed. You deserve the honorary title of Post Production Development Engineer at Nissan. In that it looks 'well done factory'.

Just thinking, what about a filter with the casing over it, kind of like a hydraulic tank breather filter?

They say i know fuck nothing, but i know fuck all!

So took a punt i'd be able to sort out a better solution so sent the nopics down to the local speed shop to pickup another $100 in fittings (never ends!)... thanks for the push.

                    Result:

Filter sits nicely down inside the front bumper, where the OEM intercooler once was.

Also boost controller has been remounted on the fuse box lid:

And just because, this is pretty much it... wont be any more engine bay changes from here on.

I know it's unlikely that engine would ever suffer damage (it would have to be driven for that to happen), but is it smart to vent oil in front of a steer tyre?

I had thought that, im going encase the oil filter in a milkshake cup or something like that, would give me somewhere in the vicinity of 4L of oil retention if everything went bad (and the catch can didn't do its job).

Additionally its housed inside the plastic inner guard which is fairly sealed off from the tyre.

That's heaps. Good call with the cup.

So after way too long tuning has commenced.

With Jason Broadhurst on the laptop we set off on Sunday morning for ~3 hrs tuning.

Lots of time spent on idle (cams + big injectors always a fun combo), hot starting, transition & general day to day type stuff...... About a million times nicer to drive now.

Also spent about 10 mins on power.... confirmed wastegate is doing its thing - 0.9 bar spring holds 0.9 bar.

Rest will be sorted on the dyno (traction is already an issue ) but pretty fking happy its all coming together so far.
