    SWB Pajero L67

this is my shorty pajero, i paid $1500 for it a year ago with blown head gaskets.

This is the second shorty pajero i have owned, the previous one i jumped regularly, thrashed, took down trees, tried my best to destroy, and it never broke! which is why i bought another one.
    My last one was red.

I spent $1000 on it fully recoed the heads, did timing belt, water pump, basically a brand new whole top end.

also did cv boots for rwc.

Anyways, drove it for about 6 months, until one day i took it mud bashing, it ate mud due to a non - sealing airbox.
A month later it ground to a halt, with a major bottom end knock!

sooo..... motor and box come out, motor sold on ebay for $400 due to all the new bits.

The new engine is a vx hsv l67. 110,000 on the clock.

Was seriously tempted to go the pajero/triton commonrail turbo desiel engine, a mate has a 2009 trition and it hammers,

adaptors have been here for a few weeks,

marks 4wd adaptors $1200 worth, ouch. not worth me making just one though.

I have seperated manual gearbox from transfer, I'm going to keep the commodore auto, it is more likely to handle the power.

Made some blanking off plates for the manual gearstick, and the clutch master cylinder out of 2mm plate.

mate if you were to unregister all of your cars you'd seriously impact the state government's bottom line.

cool project btw. excuse my stupidity, does that adaptor solidly mount the back of the commodore auto to the front of the pajero transfer case?

Its actually the other way round, if i ever got a car on the road...........

Yeh, solid mount between the two, its two pieces, so bolt one to transfer, one on 4l60e and then join the two.

Sounds like fun. I was about to say you'd be suprised at how much the manual could cope with but I was thinking about the one behind the 3.5.

I was wondering if you would start a thread on this. Hope you treat it better then the last shorty.

Any why you didnt go the ls1 option? would have been almost cheaper than the boosted six by all accounts, expensive cunts of things for reasons which I dont understand.

Wicked project by the way, I love all your left field car/engine setups.

L67s are actually worth more than LS1s

every cunt wants them for the blown up supercharged commodes

                      LS1s??? they're everywhere

There suprisingly good offroad. I dare say if all are standard these will outperform a stock patrol or cruiser, Its not until you lift and put long travel shocks in the live axle 4b's that they start to show up the independent front ends of the pajero. The fronts can be moded for more travel too. They are a very underated 4x4. (awaits the replys from the toyota fanbois)

On the beach they are far better than cruisers/patrols they don't sink in nearly as much. It's only when you start to really go offroad that the big boys have an advantage.

Been looking at a 4wd for a month or so now. Everyone keeps telling me Solid front is the way to go, otherwise ill regret it in the future. But I cant justify the coin of a GQ or 60 series considering how poo they are on the inside.

Been thinking Pajeros lately. That and Jeeps :S
