How will you go with the 4 stud wheels and rego? I've heard engineers don't like going backwards with number of wheel studs. Or do you have alternative rego methods?

Ive been very slack with this. Time has been the killer.
Rear end and the trans tunnel the next steps. I bought a 9". Its going in to have a 9" modified to fit nicely, square up the inner rear wheel tubs for a little extra clearance and have the trans tunnel modified to clear the gearbox.

Sump has been giving me nightmares. Thinking of changing over to a Morosso rather than persist with my modified abortion factory sump and pickup.

Very small ammount of progress on this....
Changed over to the Morosso sump. Still slight clearance issues. Cutting and shutting the front face of the sump to clear the cross member.
Car is at the fabricator to put in a new trans tunnel to fit the T56 and modify the 9" to make it fit. While he is there, extra bracing going in the rear to handle coil overs (tyres foul the std shock position)
Then its next door to the spray painter. Finally will be ready soon for wiring and re-assembly can begin.

Snail's pace progress..... But it comes home tomorrow.
Fabrication done (VY trans tunnel fitted to clear T56), 9" housing converted, shortened and coil overs added too. From there it went straight to the paint shop. Now its all painted up and ready to come home and start slowly putting it back together.
Spoke to a local engineer too. Everything is fine to be signed off, but needs a brake test, lane change test and chassis flex test. 3k all up for the testing and report.

                  Small update
Bought a complete set of new rubbers (Beta Auto Rubbers) for the car and have been slowly putting the small crap back on the car.
The rubber fit great. Only issue was the weather strips for the door windows. Bastard to get in without scratching paint and removing majority of finger skin. They had to be trimmed 7mm to fit. And even then they are a bastard. Everything else was a perfect fit.
Door handles, locks, door rubbers, door windows, boot rubber, cowl panel crap, tail lights, headlights etc all in. Every second day i seem to be placing an Ebay order for clips, fitting kits etc!!

Seat coverings bought also. Ended up with a set of reproduction LX SLR covers (black with the grey centres)

Tossing up whether to go the extra yard and put air con in it while I'm at it?

Next is to continue with all the small stuff that needs to go back in and then to get the diff built. Still not sure on whether to order a third member and axles from the states or get it built locally.

The 3k quote for the engineering is another hit, but I'm sure it will add 3k value when the time comes to move it on. Most of the cash is for the testing. $750 for the final report.

The colour is Hazard yellow (VE Commode) Im pretty happy with it

                            Coil Over

Upper mount (where original upper spring seat was)

Hat (Inside boot. Coil over sits up inside the hat)

                            Tunnel (Before seam sealer)

Top work so far Yellow is one colour that always seems to suit Toranas over many other models.
