10 degrees probably wont be enough initial timing, to test you can put a few more degrees in it and see if the idle cleans up/gets better.
Just dont rev the piss out of it until you get distributor recurved.
Get a vacuum gauge, tune for best vaccuum in gear at an appropriate rpm that makes the engine happy and whatever it ends up in park/neutral, who cares?
