I am pretty sure I have a jz lower sump alloy bit if you want to swap. I don't think it has a pickup or pan but you'll have to make that anyway. Avoid lifting engine up to clear, do it right and you will not regret it.David Fraser - Automotive Historian!

You don't need any of that, just the engine loom and the 2 plugs that are on the main loom for ecu. The gayest part of the VVT wiring is the switching for overdrive goes through the body module and changes polarity. Makes confusion.

I got a fair bit done today. I extricated the 1JZ from the Chaser half cut...

And had a bit of a play with it in the EK...

The clutch fan needs to go and I'll have to space the radiator forwards a touch but it fits nicely lengthwise. There's enough space either side (around the turbo and oil filter), but it looks like the exhaust will be fiddly as it is a bit tight around the steering shaft and the subframe.
There also seems to be enough height but I want to drop the front of the engine a bit so I'll need to play with the sump and crossmember.Can I wear the Scream mask? The mask from Scream... when I do you from behind...

I had a bit more of a fiddle and got e engine sitting a lot more nicely by cutting the rear of the transmission tunnel. This let the tail of the gearbox come up and as a result dropped the front.


I've got less room than I thought for the radiator, AC condenser and inter cooler. I had a trawl through the radiator catalogues and a Toyota MR2 radiator looks to be a good fit and actually has a larger volume than the stock JZX100 radiator. I've ordered an eBay MR2 radiator so fingers crossed it will give me the room I need.
The bonnet catch could be an issue as I have to space the radiator forward and it could end up clashing. I'd like to put a front mount inter cooler on it if I have the space but I think I can use the stock JZX100 cooler (which is cube shaped) inside the front guard if push comes to shove.
I've sent the loom up to Al to strip out all of the crap. There was 25 kg worth of wiring and ECUs!Can I wear the Scream mask? The mask from Scream... when I do you from behind...

The tail shaft should be here next week so we can start to finalise angles then.
