Hi looking at similiar build for my eh, currently has ecotec v6, looking for a new transplant. i like the idea of the same displacement as the original red motor, did you fab engine mounts or did use or modify mounts from another setup? what did you pay to have the loom modified? was it a simple case of adapting it to the ek loom after it was modified?

Everything in the EK is custom made because nothing fitted easily! We made the engine mounts from scratch. They are a "cotton reel" style and from memory use Commodore panhard urethane bushes. TT is correct. Al (JZK25 on PF) from AM Autos did the loom. I think it was $800 or so to strip all of the crap out of it and modify it. The engine loom running from the ECU doesn't really connect to the EK loom except for power and ignition etc. The rewire is mainly because the body loom in the EK had been hacked and fingered by the previous owners so much that it was a massive rat's nest and a serious fire hazard.

Whats the rewire costing if I can ask and is that just do it from scratch or with one of the kit type set ups (know you were looking at one on here a while back).

I think the rewire is just costing me parts + bourbon at the moment! It's an EZ Wiring universal loom that I bought off Ed in the other thread.

I've never said or implied everyone on that page was a deadshit - just that there's a concentration of deadshits there. Think of it like a mine, but instead of a rich vein of gold bearing quartz, it's a rich vein of spastic bearing facebook posts.

I'm still waiting for the wiring to be finished off. I'm very thankful that I have friends helping me but the downside is that I don't feel like I can push them as they are doing it in their own spare time.
I fly off to Estonia next week for a round of the European Rally Championship, so I'm hoping that it will be done by the time I get back!
