I've done the delco thing 10 or so years ago. It does work but tuning is very difficult because you have to burn chips and shit. They are also pretty picky about vacuum levels with big cams.
My advice would be to stick an AU throttlebody on the manifold(will probs go close to bolting on) and run a sprint 500. They are unbeatable for the money and tune really easily.David Fraser - Automotive Historian!

It looks like it's a bit easier to tune with a Delco 808 as it can now be fitted with a small board that allows real time tuning for $150. What's the advantage of a Ford AU throttle over a VN throttle body? The VN throttle body looks to be pretty much a direct fit to the VK manifold by using just two of the mounting studs.

yep. the delco is real time tunable for cheaps. the $12P setup works well too. even has switchable bins to suit different fuels or whatever.Originally posted by SkompaThe throttle linkages jammed on the CDs in my old Triumph 2000 and stuck it at WOT.
I didn't realise for about 15 mins as it never broke the speed limit.

I made some more progress today. The old red 202 and 4 speed are out...

A larger transmission tunnel was fitted to allow for the trimatic, but it's also big enough for a T700R4 if I want to change later...

I'm having second thoughts and thinking of adding a turbo again. This set up looks doable and pretty straight forward. It uses a stock cast exhaust manifold and a j-pipe.

I've finally got my shit together and made a few decisions.
I've just sorted out a Haltech E11V2 for $250 (thanks mad_cow for the hook up) so that's the ECU side of things squared away.

I'm looking at a disc brake rear end from a 240 Volvo tomorrow as they are a lot stronger than the banjo that's in it at the moment. It's a surprisingly close fit (15 mm narrower and has the same stud pattern). I'm not sure of the ratio yet until I look at it though.
I've also decided to bite the bullet and sort out the front end whilst everything is apart. I had the steering box rebuilt and all of the bushes, shocks and springs replaced when I bought the EK but I'm not happy with the steering still. I looked at some aftermarket front ends but they cost around $5k and there seems to be no clear answer as to the legality of them in Qld. So.... I've decided to keep the existing HR front end and have a rear mounted rack fitted to it. I'm most likely going to get this done by George from Alien Retro Columns in Bendigo. He's also going to make an engineer approved collapsible steering column for me that uses the top half of my existing column. That was it will look standard inside the car and still use the stock steering wheel, but it won't thrust through my heart like a zulu spear if I have a crash.
Here's an HR front end he did. This one has 2" drop stub axles and Commodore brakes though.

And the column...
