    Ripper work

Someone once asked me if they could use my mower. I said "sure, so long as it doesn't leave my yard"

Good stuff Brad. When the time comes to do a CV conversion on the rear let me know and we'll do mine at the same time.

Looking really good. I'm impressed you get any work done with 2 boys and a new baby. I struggle as it is with 1 baby girl and a pregnant wife. Welcome to the Stagea club, too. I'll keep an eye out for you. What sort of Stagea is it? What colour? I have a white 260RS Jason has a silver M35 ARX.

I bought grungles arx. Essentially same car as Jason's but with an exhaust. I love it!

I do have to take boys to shed (they come back filthy) to get much done lately or takle it at night. Wife is also very understanding.

Thanks guys, Marty, I would like to do cv but I might just try and get my wolf creek ones back. For the start I'll probably just see how the unis go though.

            What cv do you use?

Think those cvs occasionally come up on viczcar. I'll keep an eye out.

R200 would be massive overkill in this car. Have you considered an r180 from a gti-r or sti?

In fact a nissan r180 with standard half shaft's would be fine behind an NA 4 cyl.

Yeah not considering r200. I already have an r180 in there and was going to see how the uni half shafts go first.

Awesome. They're good cars. You get a lot of car for your dollars these days.

Well I should of waited a couple of days to do my last post.

Dave at Futofab.com has started making reproduction front bumpers among other panels. I ordered one and it shipped 30/Dec and arrived today 06/Jan! Very happy with the service, will be ordering a rear bumper when they are available.

This photo doesn't have it mounted completely straight (I haven't redrilled the front mounting holes when I rebuilt the front end), but none the less it looks cool!

                          Very happy with it.

Got a 2.5" heavy wall driveshaft made for the car, so the driveline is now coupled from the engine through to the rear wheels. Woohoo.

I also got a good portion of the exhaust completed. At the worst parts (end of tunnel and the gearbox cross member) it hangs below the sills by about 20mm. The rest of it is above the sills.

It is 2.5" 304ss with vband flanges and straight through oval muffler. I put a flanged section in so that the rear crossmember and components can be dropped by just removing a short section of pipe. I have to put some hanger supports in for the middle section of pipe and weld up the joins in the middle section (middle section is only tacked). I am also going to put a 2.5" bend on the muffler outlet to point the outlet slightly down and away from the stock exhaust relief.

Three things that i've learnt along the way doing the exhaust.
1 - The 1600 tunnel is stupidly small. It is like they were designing a front wheel drive car and at the last minute decided to make it rear wheel drive. I don't know how people fit 3" exhausts down that tunnel. I have a small drive shaft and a relatively small exhaust and it is less than ideal.
2 - The 1600 spare wheel well is enourmous. It has to be one of the biggest wheel wells in history (tongue in cheek). It makes it hard to fit any decent sized muffler at the back.
3 - Exhaust work blows. I can understand why people pay to get exhausts done, not a very fun job.

A lot of the american guys actually section the floor to add a hump to the side of the trans tunnel, purely for tucking and running a decent size exhaust easily. Check out a guy named icehouse on ratsun.net, he has some great build threads.

Exhaust looks mint btw, look forward to seeing this completed.
