Ok cheers, might just have to fork out for it.

I like the idea of freeing up 3 outputs.

Really happy to see it's done it's job
0.5 psi pressure drop is about right, massive difference over the old front mount too. You driving up to Dubbo tomorrow? I'll see you out there!

Today did not go as planned....

Made it from canberra to Wellington on my way to Dubbo (3+ hours in 45mins to go) and then while waiting for the rest of the convoy to get back into cars I decided to give the 2 step a hit, made aggressive bang-bang-bangs as planned, then did not run well anymore. (Man down)

so on the side of the road while waiting for a tow from someone elce from nationals already at Dubbo it was time to start checking shit,
                    - pulled plugs (perfect only a few hundred kms old)
                    - quickly checked timing marks. (Perfect)
                    - dodgy compression test pushing a spark plug over the hole, starting at 6 because I was sus straight away, turned out no comp in #1
                    - pulled rocker covers and problem was apparent real quick.

One of these things is not like the others

Mind went straight to broken valve spring, turned out this little fuckergot spat out! Sitting between the intake and exhaust cams under the bridge part of the head.

Cam really flogged the shit out of this on its way through as it couldn't go anywhere, well kinda.

It crushed the head down and pinched the bucket into the bore it lives in. Holding the bucket down and hanging a valve.

Long story short I had chisel the crushed alloy away from the bucket to try and free it up, lots of swearing and then the hammer came out trying to tap the bucket in and use spring pressure to pop it out.

Got it out after a long fight. used wet and dry wrapped around a flat blade screw driver to clean up the bore for the bucket to be able to move freely (no workshop and having a hand full of tools from home made life a lot harder than it should have been!!)

Someone coming from Newcastle to Dubbo tomorrow morning is bringing me a head to steal shims from so hopefully one of them will be close enough to work and fingers crossed it hasn't bent a valve!! Would really like to go to the drags at the very least!

Feeling very disheartened at the moment

What cams does this have in it? Stock valve springs?

HKS264 (baby cams) and yes stock valve springs. Apparently the standard springs are fine for the cams but maybe they didn't like regularly reving to 8500rpm? Lol

I've got copy 272's and suspect my springs are pretty tired, power doesn't keep going up like it should - but have fancy ones on shelf ready for motivation

Least you know the hard facing on the cam is good. Could of easily chewed the lobe or snapped the cam.

Good luck on Sunday, won't be there now.

fuck! as far as spat out shims go you should be buying a lotto ticket! that is fuck all damage even if the valve is bent! normally dead camshaft and engine full of metal!
