A little progress. Started installing carpet. Installed the shifter. Also got some pre fabbed seat trims and have been fitting them during the week.
I have removed the steering rack and rebushing it and fitting new rack boots. Also started to make some turbo manifolds (the wastegate is just sitting there at the moment). I am positioning the turbo with an option to go twins in the future if the car goes that way.

Why would you want to go twins in the future? I think the one you have may move enough air!

Nah still a street car.... I have plans to make the turbo system removable for street duties (hopefully a 1hr job).

The current turbo will move enough air to brake this engine and run it deep into the 10s. But things generally evolve. So if it does get a good engine one day it shouldn't need a whole lot of other fabrication again.

Yeah I actually agree with chrome bumpers... But one of the bumpers I have got is already painted (although needs to be redone) and the other one would need rechroming... Rechroming bumpers is an expensive exercise!!

That place in kunda park has been real cheap for me, last time I went there though I got the feeling pricing had changed. The job they did was good providing the item you gave them was flawless as they fail to fill anything. I have had bumpers done there for 150, last one a few months back was closer to 250 though from memory.

Holy shit that is cheap!! When I phoned around to get prices for my mates HQ the chroming started at 550 ex GST!! One of my bumpers is flawless in shape whilst the other has a small ding in it. I might give them a call tomorrow, I think we use the same place at work for powdercoating?

I sold my UC SL/T a year ago to "Mr UC" (those in the Brisbane Torana communities will know who he is).

On the odd occasion that I got really fed up with trying to keep the poorly developed turbo installation running, I did consider ripping the turbo 6 out and giving it a full LX A9X conversion like you've done.

That would be pretty cool, like what HANFUL does with the supercharger.
