I used a 3M scotch brite pad which goes onto my 5 inch grinder. Best 20 dollars I've ever spent!!! Whish I used it on all the other panels. Then I used 180 on the orbital. Only tip I have is to use it lightly as to not get the panel hot then distort it.Originally posted by ChrisS View PostWhat did you use to strip the roof?Breaking stuff once is ignorance, twice is stupidity, three times is racing

Bodywork.....
Very over bodywork!!!
I have been guide coating and priming for weeks...... Nearly time to throw some paint on the jams and inside of doors
. Then hopefully the rest of the car before Christmas.....
. I have heaps of KBS Rustseal left, so I am going to coat the inside of the doors. The bumpers are at the powdercoaters. Also dropped off the bonnet latch to be powdercoated. pretty amped to clean up all the parts and refit them to the car. Then even more excited to clean up my shed from all the bog dust

Don't stop till you are 100% happy with the prep. Once it is finished you will regret not spending an extra day sanding. If every time you look at a bit that needed more work.NA8B 89KW- P.I. 1:50.1, WNTN1:38.0, SDWN 1:27.6, WKFLD 1:10.4

I rushed to get my car painted and noticed a couple of things which I thought I could live with but every time I look at it I crack the shits. would have taken me an extra 30 mins maximum to get right but I wanted to get the car out of the shop (boss was a junkie cunt and I needed to get it finished & outta there so I could walk out)

Yeah I figure I should get it 100 % perfect. Especially seen as my 100 % in bodywork is probably just ok..... Also I had to choose a colour which isn't forgiving to any panel irregularities. So far I have blocked back most panels 4-5 times to get is as close to perfect as I can. Still unsure whether it will be painted in my shed or a booth?? All depends on how much I need to pay for a booth job.....Breaking stuff once is ignorance, twice is stupidity, three times is racing

I've got about 8 different blocks I switch from. The main blocks I am using are Durablocks, specifically the 17" block. The Durablocks with sticky sandpaper are awesome to use.Originally posted by GreatWallGT500 View Postwhat blocks are you using?Breaking stuff once is ignorance, twice is stupidity, three times is racing
