I was hoping to have it running this year, but real life intervened again. Hopefully first half next year now.

Ok, so the Escort saga continues... I have had an issue with some holes in the trans tunnel floor when the old gearbox crossmember was half removed by the previous owners, and an issue that the watts link hit the boot floor at ride height.

Not very exciting things, but they needed fixing, so after cutting a section of tunnel out, A new piece has been welded in to the tunnel, fixing the issue of the holey tunnel. it surprisingly looked quite good (though I did neglect to take any images)

I then went on to the diff clearance issue. I bought one of these items, made specifically to fix this issue:

So with that in hand, I cut a big hole in the floor above the diff, only to find the fuel tank sitting there! damn. After much measuring and head scratching it was clear that I could go no further back than the front of the tank support, and no higher than the fuel tank base. Given these restrictions, that panel needed to be cut up, and made to fit as best as possible.

and here it is in place (painted with white undercoat)

now that that is done, I finally fitted all of the arms completely, and the diff is in place finally.

Next I have started on the 12" dash installation, and trying to find seats for the car.

I am looking at Proton Satria Gti seats, if anyone has a pair!

the 12" dash looks like becoming a problem... surely not. what a surprise.

anyhow, onto another year of working on this car. Hopefully this is the last one!

Does the upper watts link link clear the boot floor there at full bump? Looks like it'd be close?
"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

              Just, everything just clears now.

I think the diff nose hits first.

I have finally test fitted the gauges in the car, and it almost fits, but just not quite....

The dash pad is almost wide enough to cover the 12" dash properly, but not quite, so now it is time to get a custom dash pad made... damn.

the fuel tank has been modified, and now almost fits.

Well, it has bee almost 3 years since the last update on this car, but some progress.

The full dry sump system is now in the car, and the engine has oil pressure.

The wiring on the engine has begun, I have decided to move from the M800 ECU to the M150 so that I can add in some of the better features like knock control cruise control and some better diagnostics.

Just started on the fuel system. Hopefully the engine will be running some time in August.

Some more slow progress. Fuel system is 95% complete, just waiting on fuel level sensor, and a hose for the fuel filler neck.

Heater project started. Using an aftermarket heating system (yes, it needs a heater if it is going to be a road car!) with a electronically controlled water diverter valve.

Does anyone have any experience with aftermarket central locking systems? I dont know which to get.
I would like the state of the lock system to tell the ECU when the car is locked and when it is unlocked, otherwise just a standard push pull thing with a remote control. Any suggestions appreciated.

Just starting the wiring on the car, but realiesed that I need to mount all the electrical devices first, thus the heater and fan go in, water valve, central locking, etc etc...
