The truth is it is pretty easy with the right choice of parts. The method I chose keeps the standard suspension design and geometry. It's not quite as good as the later design in relation to suspension travel. But it will work well enough for my application. There is always the option to change this later on.

Bumping this back up. I had a couple of niggling issues with this shit box, struggling to idle but fine at wot. A touch lean at times then fine at others. So I replaced the fuel filter, reset the base idle, adjusted and replaced the tps, and the spark plugs. No love. So I decided it was time to drop the tank... Oh cock it was nasty.
This is what greeted me... Rusty rusty rust.

So tank was refinished internally with a KBS tank repair kit.

So ordered a DeatschWerks 340L pump and level assembly, and a level sender unit. Once installed it was drive time once again. This time idle was perfect, and on boost was a touch rich, but swapping to the correct smaller injectors solved this issue. It's a cracking small car, just needs some coil overs, and an upgraded rear sway bar. For now I'll just put a few more km's on it and let the lot settle in a bit more.

Wow fmd time gets away from you sometimes. I've been meaning to update this but, life has been in the way. About 2.5 years ago I took a job in Hobart on a whim, and jumped ship from Canberra. It took a bit to get settled but eventually the wheels started turning on this project again, and after a further 18 months. This car is fully engineered and legal. I want to mention a huge thanks to Marc, for pushing me when it was required, Mitch for heavy lifting, and most of all to CA18escort for his guidance from the start, because of all documentation I made and pics I took during the build it made the certification much easier even though I moved states.
A few minor things have changed since the original build, I've added some Cusco "spine breaker" Coilovers, rebuilt the head with some small cams, added some rods and pistons, and took the car to TME in Sydney and had the E6.5 Ecu flashed to run a flex fuel tune. It's only making 232kw's @ 20psi, but in the small chassis it's pretty rapid lol. It needs some more injector, fuel pump, and a waste gate actuator for more power.
I've had it out at a few meets here and there, and no one really notices it much which is a pretty good thing hahaha.

Looks good with the E5 wheels too, I had them on my early Evo, they fit perfectly within the guards on the early chassis.

I was hoping to make around the 250kw mark. But waste gate kept blowing open past 20psi and injectors were at 86% duty cycle, so we can revisit it in the future lol.

250kw huh..... That's cute, pretty sure that new new "intake" will make a joke of that :D
I wouldn't recommend sex, drugs or insanity for everyone, but they've always worked for me...

Amazing work mate! Do you host the build photos anywhere that I could take a closer look at (PM?)?

They were all on FB, but the links have taken a dump. New links in original post, just not embedded.

Good for lifting and house sitting, no so good at maintenance on beat up Mazda Bravos.

If you find me all the parts, and a workshop to do it from sure lol. With what I know now I'm sure I could do it faster/better lol.
