    Another MX5, but with boost.

Long story short, sold my Toyota 86 and wanted another weekend/track day car. Spotted this SE that had just ticked over 100,000Ks, with some nice mods and a decent service history. Went to have a look and five days later it's in my Garage. Cosmetically it needs a bit of TLC, and eventually I'll fit the final pieces to the engine upgrades which should see about 220rwhp. Should be more than enough for a bit of fun.

    Current Mods are:

    AEM CAI
    Begi Intake Pipe
    Turbosmart BOV
    Turbosmart MBC
Full exhaust (unknown at this stage, but apparently NitroDann muffler)
    EBay Intercooler
    SAAS boost gauge
    TrackDog front splitter
    BD Roll Bar
    MCA Blue Coilovers
DBA 4000 T3 front and rear rotors
    QFM A1RM pads all round
    Front tow hook
plus a couple of cosmetic items.

Also recently had new radiator, new radiator hoses, & new battery.

    To Do List:

    Hardtop
    Injectors
    Chiptorque or ECU and tune
    15x8 Enkei RPF1 wheels
    ADR approved race seats
    5 or 6 point harness

Here's the only shot i have of it so far:

    2004 MX5 SE Turbo
2016 Toyota 86 GTS (No Pics)

Whilst going over the car last night in more detail, I noticed a couple of small dents in the drivers side guard. Once again my OCD couldn't handle it, so I was straight on the phone to have them pushed out this morning. These guys had someone out within two hours and did a great job for $150. Would use them again.

Nice. Sits well. What are the wheels on it at the moment?

How long until there is an MX5 sub-forum called 'The MX5 Thircle' ?

They're the standard SE/Mazdaspeed 17" wheels made by Rays. Apparently on certain 15" rims easily clear the brakes on these but RPF1's are probably one of them due to their shape.

Nice purchase I really wanted one of these a while back after my brother got his NA Clubman but I felt it was too impractical for a daily driver. Sweet looking cars with the body kit and particular headlights etc.

Decent list of mods, looks like a good buy. Get a stand alone ECU (I have an MS3). Nitrodann just did an SE that he tuned to 245rwkw's. Motor has better pistons and rods, but SE ones are stronger than normal.

Sort of I actually had a little off at Lakeside and damaged the 86. It's only the second time I've damaged a car in 30 years of mototrsport, but it did make me think about how much money was tied up in the car, and I made the decision to sell it and put the money into something that didn't owe me as much. There's pros and cons to each car but this should suit what I want for a weekend toy.

Always liked the SE. Well done.

Nice mate, have missed my 2005 SE since the day I sold it, had similar mods and made 135kw at the rears, was a bag of fun!
