Doors are NB, the red car is NA. The red car has no cage, wiring loom needs sorting, too many things. The subframes, running gear etc came out in under an hour. Now I have to put temporary subframes in so I can get it off the hoist. Then put the black car on and do the same. But there is a lot more to disconnect. So will be a late night tonight.

To be honest I've lost track of which cars you own. Given it's an NA with no cage that makes sense

Is there any real tangible benefit to going NA when the hanging panels are CF??

The NA chassis is lighter. Plus in WTAC, it has a much lower min weight.
I hate to be the party pooper, but after a very long chat with a friend that does endurance racing, I have decided to keep the car NA. This is to be an endurance race car, so keeping all the components alive for 300km's is going to be a lot easier with 90kw's. Less stress on everything. To finish first, first you must finish.
The plan now is to make a full carbon fibre roof and boot, with a new carbon aero kit and a fresh set of A050's. Make it light, make it stick. Sure it will have no chance in open class Vic time attack. And will be the only car under 100kw by a long shot. But I bet I won't be last.

Hang on, which car will be N/A? The black one? It's getting hard to keep up with which car you're playing with.

This thread is for the silver MX5 that is now black. MX5's have limits that Oem parts can't sustain once pushed for so long. That means replacing hubs, bearings, diff and gearbox coolers, brakes, etc. Most endurance races have a cap on how fast you can go anyway, so if I can reliably cruise around doing an ok time, it might be enough. Fuel stop will be quicker. And if it rains, a light under powered car should do even better.

Which flare kit is that on the red car?

A fully hektic one. No idea of the brand. The previous owner knows. Should mould them and make them in carbon fibre for extra street cred. But I would change them for better aero, less drag.

So your not expecting to take first place? I was told you put throttle bodies on or something and picked up 15kw's? What's that, 70?

And I have started on the carbon fibre fastback 😎
