Few fiddly jobs today. Fitted the turbosmart 14psi actuator, set 2mm of preload and checked if it worked. Also massaged the rail to move the rack over for better dump pipe clearance. Relocated a few lines in the process. Got another btr 4 speed to work out the hole position for the Speedo gear conversion, then did it to my box. Dropped off radiator to be modified for falcon outlets and also one cooler pipe to be welded
Trimmed the sump a tad for bit more clearance against rack as well and cut a bit off alternator for turbo hotside outlet
Cut the rack mounts and moved them over 1.5". Fired up the welder and welded them in. Fits pretty nice, wound the tie rod in to get part of the lock I lost. Put the engine in and dump was close to fitting, so gave it a little tap and boom. It's in. Tackle the bottom half and cat tomorrow
Jimmy surprisingly it fits pretty well. There are bits of tapping and a little cutting here and there but overall not bad. Yeah, with factory heat shield it will be factory looking, also why i got that plenum.
Still undecided whether to fill ford logo with bog or paint the red to wrinkle black. The red is sorta growing on me
Threw rad in this afternoon. Cut the charcoal canister hanger off for more room on drivers side. Used a mix n match of Barra and ecotec rad hoses. The el twin fans I got off hoges are 10mm too wide so I am waiting for some Mondeo fans in the post
Looks like I'm kissed on the dick with the exhaust. If I rotate the dump into the right position the cat section is perfectly straight to the cat back. Runs on a angle past the gearbox to to catback flange just at the centre bearing. That's tomorrows job
Also got a spare set of vice grips, so I can cut and modify my old shitty ones to bead roller for cooler piping
