uhh wouldnt going from a 1zz to a 2zz maintain the purity better than swapping to a 2gr? if you cared about purity on what is essentially a kit car using donor engines anyway...

either way i dont think they fit particularly well unless you do serious mods. the v6 exiges run a larger rear chassis and rear clam for a reason

I'm interested to hear if the pin end on the carrillo's need to be rebushed to suit the mahle pins. The pins in the Mahle 2zz pistons always seem to be slightly undersize and end up with too much clearance

a guy who does it as a part time gig in eltham

his business is called specialized autowerk

                      pricing is quite fair also

The head has been off getting ported also and is now off being flowed and the valve seats cut for the new valves.
there are new flat faced valves, new valve springs and piper stage bp285 cams that should help a lot with the midrange

i have flow figures for the inlet only at this stage but the numbers seem decent, and i certainly dont see the head being a
                        restriction

at .500" of valve lift its flowing 281cfm (25" of water)
cant wait to see what the gains on the exhaust are

excellent call thanks mate, they were way off. still need to confirm the pin is ok in the piston but its certainly too small for the small end

i also followed your lead on the rocker cover.

amazingly new short blocks are still available from toyota so i took the plunge in true snowballing fashion

it has been stripped and will be balanced and fitted with the rods and pistons

did you source the short motor locally or from the US?

They seem to be a fair bit cheaper out of the US

Wow, that is getting properly "dougmo level" out of control.
