The huge difference between the R35 and any older seriously fast car is how less scary it is when the power comes on. My car feels like it is trying to lift itself off the road, where the 35 just feels like its glued to it.
The World's Best Pest Control in Brisbane, at PF mates rates, PM me.

when all else fails, hit it harder.

My mate did well during the start of covid so he went and picked up a new 2020 model c63s coupe aero edition in white. He did the mandatory 900km break in and I had a go at thrashing it.

Didn't feel as safe and definately not as fast. I'm surprised how a 3.8litre engined car that's 10 years older is still much faster and feels more planted.

I received my new steering wheel a week ago and had a go at changing it last night.

Alot of tutorial exist for the GTR as the Americans have had it for a while and there are an abundant amount of literature on their 2 main forums. Really good for me as it would be annoying to fuck things up for such an expensive car.

It's a mine's flat bottom Alcantara steering wheel. Nothing wrong with my current one but I would like a new one that's clean germ free.

Have it a quick clean just to make sure it's really germ free.
This stuff is good with Alcantara, quick brush and wipe.

Takes me 2 minutes to disconnect the battery, took 10 minutes the first time. You have to take out 6 door clips and 2 plastics trim.

Forum tutorial adviced that I needed to buy 2 of these, in hindsight I should have just look for a replacement that wasn't tamper proof.

I was super careful when removing and it still mangled itself.

I was trawling Facebook market place and found some ads that had typos so people haven't got to them.

Picked up a couple of things and got some freebies from the seller as well. Great guy!

Big Wang and front lip!! I got it for$1000 he gifted me 2 OEM down pipes, they're worth about$usd900.

the wing has this box attached to it, it needs a few parts but I'm in the process of buying those.

The front lip is not that great either so I will be ordering some epoxy resin and have a go and patching it up.

That's all for now, hope I can get these sorted by this week before I return to work.

I just figured out that after you upload photos, you have to insert them so I've fixed it up a bit.

          That steering wheel is nice!

i was at a trackday over the weekend, there was two R35 GTR’s in attendance. They just have a presence about them (still after all these years) in the flesh and sound good too once opened up.

          Looking forward to this build/updates.

Forgotten I had this thread, minor update over covid.

Factory front lip was mangled, seems.to be a common thing for these cars, they're low. Got this front lip with a spoiler, had to fix the clear coat. Was interesting as I did it during lockdown and it was only a couple of degrees in the garage. The epoxy was not happy.

It went on fine and looks better than the old stuff.

Also changed the wheels to te37 ultra.

Another step closer to be stanced out.

Was planning to just change the speakers after hearing how terrible when the dial was turned up to.50%. took some interior bits out and added some weight.

Then changed factory speakers in door, they fit in with just spacers. Really easy to do, these are hertz mile pro 163.3 3 ways.

Had the amps fitted under the seat, audison 8.9bit and ad1p. They work with OEM head unit, which provides good source to the factory Bose amps which were not that great

Added a sub with a sealed box hertz mp300 d4. It's a dual voice coil sub 4+4ohms wired to run 2ohms the amp is 500w rms at 2ohms so matches it well

The factory wiring was used so I just connected the amp to the existing stuff under the seat, the factory wiring is half active/passive. To run new wiring I would had to spend days unpinning to the for harness which is a cunt to access. Can't be fucked for a noob sounds at up.

Once everything was hooked up, had to use a laptop to set up the amp. This was tough, spend hours asking Facebook ppl how it all works.

I've got a soft spot for R35's now, the looks have grown on me over the years. I like where this is heading you're doing what I would do with it if I had one. #oldman now

Also started to learn and practise how to vinyl wrap things. Started off with the centre console trim. It's in plastic with scratches.

Now it matches the factory control trims and cd player disc slot trim

Next step for the car is to put together a flex fuel sensor kit with parts I've acquired and install it in the car and tune for e85.

E85 will transform the car. As will HKS turbo's later down the track 😈
